Che rector, for reasons already stated to the pub
lic, having declined the presidency of the Uni-
versity of Georgia, will continue to superintend
and instruct in the seminary which has for six
years past existed and flourished u .tier his cure.
Miss Harriet Stebbins who has recently taught
with merited reputation in Powelton Academy,
ill take charge of the female department—,Vbt
more than thiitv scholars will be under Iter tui
tion. Should applications be sufficiently numerous
to >'emaml or justiiy the measure, an assixteut lo-
male teacher will be employed. To botli branch-
of the female school the rector will devote dai
ly attention and instruction—Scholars will oe
faithfully ami systematically i istructeil in all the
literary, scientific and ornamental parts of edu
cationWhich are taught in the most reputable, fe
male seminaries in the United tstites. Lessons
in music will he given by a prolessor of this art.
Scholars will be received for a half a year’s
session. Those under the tuition of Miss Steb-
bins will pay 1G dollars a session; those under
the tuition ol an assistant 12 dollars—and for
music, embroidery and painting 25 dollars.
'The Male department will be under the man
agement and tuition of Mr. Gildersieeve and
the rector. By them students will be instructed
in all the branches ot English, Academic and
Collegiate study. Tuition for Reading, Writ
ing, and English Grammar, will be 12 dollars a
sessiol) for Geography, the use ot the Globes
and the Academic Classics, 1G dollars ;—and lot-
sclmlars holding a regular college grade, twenty
five.
The institution is furnished with a respecta
ble Library ;—and good board may be had lor
150 dollars a year.
All applications for admission, maybe made
to John 1). Beman, post master, at Mount Zion,
who is appointed treasurer of the institution ;
the scholar, before he commences Ids studies,
1 will bring from him a certificate, that one session
has been paid in advance.
