The most extraordinary Discovery in the tcorld
is the great Arabian Remedy for Man and Beast!
H. G. FARRELL’S
Celebrated Arabian Liniment!!
rMUIE miraculous cures performed by the Arabian physi-
JL Jcians in the days of old, were then looked upon as the
result of magic, but since we have become intimate with their
History we can thus account for their surprising power over
disease. Their attainments in the knowledge of medicine
were the wonder of the age, while at the same time the sci
ence of Chemistry, which with them had its origin, wa- to the
rest of the world “a sealed boob.:'’ arei in Penalty they were
tht most zealous of students. In the beautiful groves winch
skirt the deserts of Arabia, abound rare plants and odorous
woods, whence are obtained those aromatic gums and fra
grant balsams, of which this incomparably liniment is com
posed, and by whose stimulating, unctuous, penetrating and
Anodyne properties it is, when applied, instantaneously diffu
sed through the whole nervous system. allaying the most in- !
tense pair, in the incredibly short time of 10 or 15 minutes.—
Its action is prompt, powerful and effectual, without tiie least
c.anger. It penetrates the ffesh to the bone, relaxei contract
ed cords, restores use to limbs which have been palsied for
years causing the shrivelled flesh to grow out and rich blood
to circulate through its veins. It restores the Synovial Fluid
or Joint Water, and this is the reason why it has been so
universally successful in curing all diseases of the Joints. In i
cronic affections of the Spine, Liver, Lungs ami Kidneys,
this great Arabian remedy stands unpaialelled ; for Ague
<-ake or Enlargement of the Spleen, it is a Specific ; and for
Rheumatism it has performed some of the most extraordinary
cures on record ; also for Cramps, Swellings, Pains, Wounds,
Chilblains, Burns, White Swellings, Tumors, Arc. kc. It is
equally efficacious in diseases of Animals, such as Fistula,
Poll Evil, Sweeney, Stiff Complaint, Distemper, Farcy, Sprains,
Bruises, Wound., Mange, Spavins. Windfalls. Splint; and for
i.early all diseases, either in man or beast, which requires an
external application, thus Liniment stands at the head of all
medicines.
Liver Complaint, Erysipelas and Rheumatism
Cured !
RtvwicK, Marios Co-, Kt., May 07, 1849.
Ms. H.'G. Farrkli.—Dear Sir: Your Liniment is selling 1
very well, and doing a vast deal of good among the people. It !
lias cured a bad case of Krysifclas, and another of a bad j
fain in the breast. A lady who wa. confined to her bed for ‘
several months with Liver Complaint and Affection of the i
Heart, was entirely cured by the use of your Arabian Lini
ment. She sai.l the doctors could do her no good. It has
been applied to a fresh cut, and zurm.iit in n short inw. 1
have been afflicted with Rheumatism for a long time, and just
before a wet spelt it pained me so much that I had no peace
all day; and in the night I commenced bathing and -libbing
with your Liniment, and before I was done rubbing, the .pain
ceased. JOHN BUCK MAN.
Stiff Complaint , Sweeney , Distemper , Corks
and Sore Eyes Cured.
[M. Mitchell, Postmaster at Fiat, Fulton co. 111. eav. :]
Mr. 11. G. Farrell: Your Arabian Liniment is highly
prized here. We cured one of my neighbor’s horses of the
Stiff Complaint by about four or five applications, and 1 cured
one of my own of the Sweeney. Our Sheriff, Joseph Davis,
cured his horse of a bad Cork with it; he also it on a
jolt that had the Distemper very had, and cured it immediate
ly. Ho says it is decidedly the best horse medicine he ever
used. There have been numbers cured of Sore Eyes with it.
I find it a very valuable medicine both for man and beast.
Look out for Counterfeits !
The public are cautioned against another counterfeit, which
has lately made itsap-pearar.ee, called W. B. Farrell’s Arabian
Liniment, the most dangerous of all the counterfeits, because
.lie having the name of Farrell, many will buy it in good faith
1 without the knowledge that a counterfeitexists, and they will
iperhaps only discover their error when the spurious mixture
lias wrought its evil effects.
The genuine article is manufactured only by H. G. Farrell,
sole inventor and proprietor, and wholesale druggist. No. 17

PECTORIAL STOMACH PILLS.
A remedy for Coughs, Colds, Catarrh, Croup, Whooping
Cough, Asthma,Consumption, Nervous Diseases, Dyspep
sia, Erysipelas, Salt Rheum, Disease of the Heart, Fevers
of all kinds. Obstructed and painful Menstruation, Inflam
mation and Pain in the Chest. Back and Side, and all dis
eases arising from a deranged state of the Stomach, and
to relieve the distress and bad feelings from eating too hear
ty food in the week and dyspeptic habits.
These Pills act as an expectorant, tonic, and aperient, and
are designed to supercede the use of the various cough mix
tures iti the form of Expectorants, Syrups, Balsams, and Bar
saparillas of the present day.being whatlhe public have long
needed, and put at such a low price that all will be able to ob
tain them. One box of these pills which costs but 23 cents
possesses four times the power in curing the diseases for which
they are recommended, than the high priced one dollar bottles
of any of the expectorants, syrups, balsams, or sarsapariUas
now before the public—and a fair trial of them will convince
any one of the truth ofthis statement.
They possess properties peculiarly adapted to restore the
lung* and vital organs to a healthy state. They loosen and
discharge all the morbid secretions, assist greatly the expecto
ration, and render the lungs free from that effete matter which .
characterizes all those diseases; and the proprietor feels au- j
thonzed to stale, from personal observation, and witnessing j
the astonishing effects of these pills on a multitude of cases,
that there is not another remedy in the whole Materia Medica
capable of imparting such healing properties to the lungs and
vital organs as these pills.
Each box contains 25 Pills--Price 25 cents.
ALSO
DR. STRONG’S
COHP.OUND SANATIVE PILLS.
WARRANTED TO BE PURELY VEGETABLE.
Health is too important to be trifled with; yet we find per
sons every day who give the most careful attention to their
ordinary pursuits, yet neglect that which is far more impor
tant to them, tluir heatth. If these invaluable Pills were kept
on hand by every fatnily, and restored to on the first symptoms
of disease, they would save many a valuable life, sacrificed
by delay. They are a most superior medicine in the cure of
ail Billious Grmplaints, Chills and Fever, Dyspepsia, Oostive
ness. Liver Complaint. Jaundice,Sick Headache,Scrofula, Lsvss
of Appetite, and all lingering diseases.
They purify the blood, equalize the circulation, restore the
liver, kidneys andothersecretory organs to a healthy tone and
action; and from their tonic effects.prevent thatgeneral pro
stration and debility of the stomach and intestines that is so
often the consequence of afreeuseof other purgative medi
cines. Hence asa Female .Medicine, they have no equal, and
when taken according to the directions, they never fail to cure
the very worst cases of Piles, after all other remedies fail.—
They act in concert with nature, and assist her in her efforts
to overcome disease; they must, therefore, exert an influence
all-powerful in preserving and restoring the general health.—
They have been used in every form of disease, and in various
climates, and their excellence proved, in cases where medica
skill and many boasted remedtes bad failed to afford relief.—
Diseases that seemed the most opposite in their nature, have
yielded with equal facility to their use,and cures have been
effected in cases that seemed beyond hope. Non* it strange
that such should be the case, for all diseases, however different
ly named, disorganize the secretions,a ml impairs the vitality
of the blood.
A medicine, therefore, that is prc/y rrxrrtable, and aids na
ture to restore these important functions to a healthy state,
must prove of service in all forms of disease. Dr. Strong’s
Compound Sanative Pills possess these rare virtues, and are
therefore nota mere purgative medicine, hut a general remover
of disease, a pu.iher of the blood, and a strengthener of the
system.
Those who have once tried these Pills never afterwards feel
willing to be without them, which is sufficient proof of their
good qualities.
Each box contains 25 Pills. Price 25 cents,

ty n*.- f.lUowing is from the pen of Win. H Levison.
Esq. the distinguished editor of the United States Military
and Naval Argus date New York, January 2f>, 1850. What
could be more conclusive?
‘lt m seldom we permit nurse Ices to occupy a space in these
columns to speak in praise of any article in file patent medi
cine way ; but when we see the lite of a fellow-creature saved
by the use of any medicine whatever, we consider it as our
right, if not our duty, tegivea simple statement of facts, that
othjw may, in like manner, be henefitted. The case which
has induced us to pen this article was that of a young lady
of our acquaintance, who by frequent exposure to the
night air, contracted a Cold which settled on the I,ungs
helore its ravages could lie stayed. (Thisoccurred two years
ago this winter.) Various remedies were used, but with very
little effect or benefit. Tlie Cough grew worse, with copious
expectoration, and the sunken rye, and pale, hollow cheek
told plainly that pulmonary disease was doing its worst on her
delicate frame. The family physician wag consulted, and al
though he would not admit to the young lady that she really
had the consumption, yet he would give no encouragement as
to a cure. At this crisis her mother was persuaded to make
use of a bottle of Dr. Rogers’ Compound Syrup of Liverwort
and Tar, and we are happy to state she was perfectly cured
in less than three months by this medicine alone, after even
liojie was destroyed. It is useless to comment on such a case
as this, for the simple truth will reach where polished fiction
never can. If any doubt the anthenticity of this statement,
let them call at this office.— V. 8. Military and -Varal .Irgus,

several important cures recently effected by this excellent

our observation, we can speak confidently. One of our em

during the past week commenced the use of this medicine,
and his cold has entirely disappeared.

tism, caused by the use of Mercury, Syphilis, Scro
fula, Boils, Ulcers, tj-c.
r JHHIS preparation is made as pure as possible. Its bitter taste
1. and beneficial affects in diseases of the Liver, and diseases
arising from an impure state of the lllood, prove it to be the
purest and most useful preparations of Saraaparilla that is made.
Those who have used the various preparations of Sarsapn
rillo will find, by the taste and effect, that there is more Sarsa
parilla in one bottle of Dr. D>. preparation, than in half a
dozen bottles as it is generally made.
That it he more particularly adapted to professional
use, nothing but the pure sarsaparilla has been used, that for
different diseases, physicians might combine or prescribe with
it, such articles as they might consider most appropriate in
cases under their treatment.
Its alterative and mildly purgative effect upon the bowels
make it not only a good substitute for Mercury, but useful in
removing all diseases arising from the imprudent use of Mer

There is no doubt iu the world of the greatness of Doctor

and Dr. Bull, if he choose*, can very soon build one twice

generally to adopt the use of this medicine, we would see
far lees suffering, disease, and unhappiness, among them,
than now exists : health would take the place oi” disease,
the rosy cheek would succeed the pallid fare ; we should
have smiles instead of tears, and jwrhaps a happy loug life,
instead of one cut short by disease, or made miserable by
continual suffering and atHictiou. At that critical period
