My collection of Peaches contains, at present, about seven

They possess every facility for performing the task as
they live at Austin, the Capitol of the State, where

fell under Fannin, Ward*, Travis, Bowie and Johnson
are almost entirely ignorant of theit rights. The
Heir or lleira of every such person is entitled to 7,1.65
acres of land if he was the head of a family, if he
was a single man, they are entitled to 4,036 acres.
In numerous instaues fraudulent admiuist rations have
been had which should be enquired into by the Heiiy
In many cases the lands have been sold for non-pay
ment of Taxes; few of such sales will stand the test
of n judicial investigation. Certificates for the full
amount of fend have in few eases been granted.
One of the firm, Thomas Griffin, will be at the La
nier House, Macon, until Tuesday next, the 12th inst., j
where he will meet any person who may wish to en
gage their services.

Georgia Military Institute.
THIS INSTITUTION went into operation in 1831. At
their Session of 1851-2, the Legislature incorporated it
as a College, by requisition on the general government, fur
nished it with arms, bolh for Infantry and Artillery, nnd pro
vided for the education of a certain number of State Cadets.
The Legislature also directed a Board of Visitors to be appoin
ted, of whom tlie Goternor is ex-offieio President, who duties
are to inspect the Institute, attend its examinations, and re
port on iis c indition to the Legislature; and in conjunc
tion with a committee of the Board of Trustees, to establish
and declare proper regulations for its government. These
Regulations have been published. The course of study, meth
ods of teaching, and the discipline which they prescribed are,
as nearly as possible, those of the United States Mih'a'y
Academy. Any person intereste j may obtain a copy of them
by applying to tlie Superintendent. Tlie next academic year

as when put into the Safe, all the watch movements were in
running order, and some of them in motion.
