W “ tDink tj,t Delaware, here set down as “American,”
may be cla.-sed under the Black H‘-publican Banner,
and that lowa, aet down as “doubtful,” will be found in
the some category. Kentucky, too, will hardly remain
American, with Breckenringe in the field for Vice Presi
dent. This will leave Maryland as the only State that
can be set down as certain for Fillmore. We would
’ hange the classification, also of Tennessee, which was
Democratic last year and will probably be so this, not
withstanding the boasting of the American Press of that
State. The American party cannot hope to succeed in
Tennessee, till it pitches overboard that rascally Jonah,
that has smuggled himself into the forecastle qf the ship I
But taking the Kmjiiirer’s calculation, as it stand*-
and a hat a gloomy prospect for the South! Suppose
Fillmore should get enough votes to defeat an election
by the people and the contest goes before the House
with the Black Republicans having 14 Stales and only
wanting two more, such as Delaware and lowa, to elect
their candidate. How could any sane man count ui>on
, either Delaware or lowa in such a contest? Surely the
South would be depending oil a broken reed so to do.
JPoliticnl Changes.—Three American pa

decline to act as Presidential electors. In Mississippi,

jy Asa spring or summer medicine we would re

above all others. Its strengthening and Invigorating
effect upon a debilitated system is truly astonishing.—
Its tonic action on the liver, its tendency to drive all
humors to the surface, thereby cleansing the system
from all Impurities, is what has gained for these Bitters
such an enviable reputation, inasmuch as they are
pleasant to the taste even as a beverage, aud are in

Listen to the testimony of an eminent physician in

acknowledged to be the best in use; even members of
the medical faculty (who are so often opposed to the use

Lind, Stark county, Ohio, January S, 1849.
I have used Dr. M’Lane’s Worm Specific, prepared by
Fleming Bros., Pittsburgh, Pa. in my private practice,
and am prepared to say that the unparalleled success
with which I have prescribed its use, both for children
and adults, induces me to say the most in its favor of
any specific or patent medicine ever before brought to
my notice. The mode of administration, the smallness
of the dose, and the certainty of its efficacious effects,
give it, in my opinion, a decided advantage over any
other medicine of the kind before the public.

ANTI-DYSPEPTIC MEDICINE.
* HTHIB valuable laxative and tonic cordial, is most
confidently recommended to those persons who
are suffci ing fiom the disorders incident to an impaired
digestion. The symptoms indicative of an imperfect as
similation of the food and its healthy and natural ap
propriation to the surteuance of the system, are too va
ried nud numerous to call for a minute account of ihem
here. To those who are afitieted with such disorders,
they are but too readily appreciated, and need no de
railed statement of them. To all such the proprietor
commends this medicine. An ample experience in -the
practice of medicine and in the u*e of the remedy, as
sures him that it (wssesses virtues superior to any other
compound will, whicli he is acquainted. He is willing
that its reputation shall rest upon itsmerits alone.
For the C’ostiveness, Head-ache and Indigesth nos
pregnancy, its beuefits are peculiarly manifest, and for
tliis distressing disorder, it has proven eminently useful.
Asa promoter of Digestion, its efficacy will be readily
acknowledged by those persons, who indulge fre- ly in
ilie luxuries of the table, and by reason of a slow and
labored digestive process, sutler from fuiinessand oppres
sion of stomach, headache, eructations, kc. Taken un
ler any circumstances, it renders immediate relief. Its
properties as a laxative for continued use, restoring the
-ecretions and exciting the vermicular action of the in
testinal canal, renders iyi safe and valuable family med
icine, equally adapted “children and adults.
