This DELICIOUS TONIC,
especially designed for the use of the
, Medical Profession and the Family,
; possesses those intrinne medicinal pr*
perties (Tonic and Diuretic) which
to an Old and PORE GUN. The
business of manufacturing spurious gins,
and offering them as beverages, under
the titles, “ Aromatic,” —“ Cordial,” —
‘* Medicated,” etc., has become so com
mon, that the public are justly suspicious
of nearly everything that is offered under
similar forms, and the trade has thus
been brought into disrepute. It has
remained for our house (established in
1178) to supply the pressing popular
need, and to inaugurate a new era iu
the history of the Trade. We trust
that our established reputation found
ed upon eighty years of experience
abundantly vindicates our claim to publio
confidence.

Ayer’s Sarsaparilla
A compound remedy, in w hich we have ‘
bor;d to produce the moot effectual altera/ 1 ’
that can be made. It is a concentrated - tr lT *
of Para Su?sapr.rilla, to combined wi) u
substances of still greater alterative power *
to afford an effective antidote for the disc *
Sarsaparilla is reputed to cure. It i* belief
that such a remedy is wanted by those %■
suffer from Strumous complaints, and that ***
which will accomplish their cure must too*
of immense service to this large clan cf
afflicted fellow-citizens. How completely thk
compound will do it has been proven by eir* 4
intent on many of the worst cases to be
of the following complaints:
Scrofula and Scrofulous Coxpunn*
Eruptions and Eruptive Diseases, I'lcii’
Pimples. Blotches, Tumors, Salt R Kl p
Scald Head, Stphilts and Syi>ui LITIC
sections, Mercu rial Disease, Dropst V.
ralgia or Tic Douloureux, Dehiutt,’ Du!
pepsia and Indigestion, Erysipelas’, Ho,j
or St. Anthony's Fire, and indeed the vrholl
class of complaints arising from Impuritt o
the Blood.
This compound will be found a great pro.
moter of health, when taken in the spring p,
expel the foul humors which fester th*
blood at that season of the year. By tlu * urne .
ly expulsion of them many rankling disorder*
are nipped in the bud. Multitudes can, bv
the aid of this remedy, spare themselves froii
the endurance of foul eruptions and ulctrou*
sc-res, through which the system will strive to
rid itself of corruptions, if not assisted to do
this through the natural channels of the body
hv an alterative medicine. Cleanse out the
vitiated blood whenever you find its impuritiee
bursting through the skin in pimples, eruption*,
or sores; cleanse it when you find it is ob
structed and sluggish in the veins ; cleanee it
whenever it is foul, and your feelings will tell
you when. Even w here no particular dborder
is felt, people enjoy better health, and liv*
longer, for cleansing the blood. Keep the
blood healthy, and all is well; but with thi*
pabulum of life disordered, there can hr no
lasting health. Sooner or later something
must go wrong, and the great machinery of
life is disordered or overthrown.
Sarsaparilla has, and deserves much, the
reputation, of ac complishing these ends. But
the world has been egregiously deceived by
preparations of it, partly because the drug
alone has not all the virtue that is claimed
for it, but more because many preparation*,
pretending to be concentrated extract* of it,
contain but little of the virtue of Sarsaparilla,
or any thing else.
During late years the public have been mi*,
led by large bottles, pretending to give a quart
of Extract of Sarsaparilla for one dollar. Meat
of these have been frauds upon the sick, for
they not only contain little, if any, Sarsap*.
rilla, but often no curative properties whatev
er. Hence, bitter and painful disappointment
has followed tha use of the various extract* es
Sarsaparilla which flood the market, until the
name itself is justly despised, and has become
synonymous with imposition and cheat. Still
we call this compound Sarsaparilla, and intend
to aupply such a remedy as shall rescue the
name from the load of obloquy which rest*
upon it. And we think we have ground for
believing it lias virtues which are irresistible
by the ordinary run of the diseases it is intend
ed to cure. In order to secure their complete
eradication from the system, the remedy should
be judiciously taken according to direction* on
the bottle.
