Mostzzcma, Oct., 24th, 1859.
Messrs. Ayers. Wingfield ts Cb:
Dzar .Sir—Yours of the 13th inst., has been received
its contents noted, Ac. In reply to your enquiry in
regard to the Manipulated Guano as a fertilizer—l
am well pleased so far as I have tested its use. I ap
plied alxmt 100 lbs. per acre on land that was badly
worn, and not of the best when fresh. The product
of the field where the Guano was applied is over SOO
lbs. of seed cotton j>cr a re. The same Wind of land
without the Guano produced about 400 lbs. per acre.
Mv mode of applying the Guano, was by depositing
it m the drill before bedding up the kind. I have not
tried its use on corn, br.t have no doubt but it will
succeed well. I shall use it pretty extensively on
1 my next crop.
Y’ours Respectfully.
I [Signed] REUBEN WRIGHT.

Messrs. Ayers Wingfield d’■ Co -, Macon.
Dear Sir:—The Manipulated Guano bought of you
last Spring (Reese’s, I think it was.) I approve ofvery
much. At this time, as the crop is not gathered 1a
1 cannot say what per cent, it will pay, though the
use of it on poor land pavs a considerable per cent.
1 shall continue the use or it.
Respectfully yours.
