This is a question that is being asked every day. The business me.i
• of Fort Valley say that it cannot be done. There is no way for a commu
nity to prosper unless every resident of that community puts his should¬
er to the wheel and helps move the load. The trend is now towards the
bigger cities. Still the same fellow who jumps in his car and runs to the
larger place to get a plow point or a suit of clothes, is the fellow who
howls the loudest about the non-progressiveness of the “home town” and
the high taxes. He does not take a second thought about his buying
away from home is one of the causes of his home town being behind the
• times.
Suppose every resident in the trading area of Fort Valley was to
confine his buying to Fort Valley—what would happen? We would
have larger and better stores, the banks would be more prosperous,
«
thereby being better able to help their customers in times of need, we
would have better schools and a happier and more contented people.
Merchandise would be cheaper because the merchants would be able to
buy in larger quantities, thereby being able to sell it cheaper.
>
People of Fort Valley, these things are worth taking into serious
■
consideration. Fort Valley cannot stand still—will either go forward or
• backward. Which going to help it go?
way are you
The glorious New Year for Peach County is now upon us. Our mer¬
chants are ready to do their full part in building a more wonderful com
muriity here. Look their stocks over thoroughly before making up your
■
mind to go elsewhere. Don’t take or send your money away where you
• wirt have no chance to enjoy its benefit: ■no chance to get it back in
■
public Service or the profits of trade.
