PETITION FOR CHARTER
GEORGIA, Peach County:
To the Superior Court of said county:
The petition of J. W. Woolfolk,
J. D. Duke, Glenmore Green. D. C.
Strother, A. J. Evans and Louis L.
Brown, all of the county of Peach,
said state, respectfully shows;
First, that they desiie for them¬
selves, their associates, and success

body politic under chi name and

! it Association, for a period of
twenty years from date.
Second, the principal office of said
company shall be in the city of Fort
Valley, state and county aforesaid,
but petitioners desire the right tt
establish branch offices within the
state or elsewhere, whenever the
holders of a majority of the stock
may so determine.
Third, the object of said corpora¬
tion is pecuniary gain to itself and
its shareholders and the development
of agricultural interests throughout
said state.
Fourth, the business to be carried
on by said corporation is the lend¬
ing of money on notes, unsecured or
secured by mortgages, deeds, or oth¬
erwise as to it may seem fit; to dis¬
count and to re-discount such of its
paper as it may desire; to borrow
and to lend money upon such terms
as it deems proper and profitable:
to do and perform all acts that are
necessary and incident to loan asso¬
ciations, and which are proper, prof¬
itable, and convenient in the trans¬
action of a well ordered and conduct¬
ed loan association; to borrow mon¬
ey upon such terms as it may obtain,
and which to it seems proper and
profitable and to secure said sums
so borrowed by pledging such collat¬
eral, either real or personal, as it
may desire and have
Fifth, the capital stock of said cor¬
poration shall be Twenrv Five Thou¬
sand Dollars ($25,000.00) with the
privilege of increasing same to the
sum of Two Hundred Fifty thou¬
sand Dollars ($230,000.00) by a
majority vote of the stockholders,
said stock to be divided into sh ir *s
of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) each. Tea
per cent of the amount of capital
stock to be employed by them has
been actually paid in.
Sixth. Petitioners desire the right
to sue and be sued, to plead and be
impleaded, to have and use a common
seal, to make all necessary by-laws
and regulations, and to do all other
things that may be necessary for the
successful carrying on of said busi
