Phone 4803 ■ | l 3* - IT BOND ELECTION FOR SANI¬ TARY SWERAGE To the qualified voters of the of Fort Valley, Georgia. the Mayor and City Council of Valley desiring to incur a bonded debtedness, as prescribed in graphs One (1) and two (2), beven, (7), Article Seven (7) of Constitution of 1877, did under power contained in the Charter the City of Fort Valley, Georgia, a regular meeting held on the 5th day of March, 1925, pass the ing ordinance’which is hereby porated in this notice and made a part thereof, to-wit: BOND ORDINANCE Be it ordained by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Fort ley and it is hereby ordained by au thority of same: SECTION I. That a pecial election be and same is hereby called pursuant the law in such cases made and vided, to be held on the 10th day of April, 1925, for the purpose of sub mitting to the qualified voters of said City a proposal to issue Bonds in the sum of Thirty Thousand Jars, to be used for the purpose oi installing sanitary sewerage in the City of Fort Valley in certain sec t ions where same is not now od ami for the purpose of extending and developing the present sanitary swerage system in operation in the City of Fort Valley. • SECTION II. That the Mayor and City MIL [ the City of Fort Valley shall use the proceeds of such issue of Bonds exclusively for the purpose ed in Section I of this ordinance. SECTION III. That said Bonds shall be in the denomination of Five Hundred Dol¬ lars each; shall bear interest at the rate of five per centum (5 per cent.) per annum. payable semi-annually, and payable principal and interest at the office of the City Clerk and Treasurer of the City of Fort Georgia Paid Bonds shall be dated ju jv i s t 1925 \ and shall be " ’ and . interest, , • gold coin principal . . , m -of the United States of America of the present standard of weight and fineness, and that said Bonds shall be known as Sewerage Bonds. SECTION IV. That no part of the principal of said Bonds shall be paid annually, but the said Bonds shall all mature the expiration of Twenty^ (20) years from the date of the issue of the same. Such a sum shall be raised an n ually by the levy, assessment and collection of a City tax as will pay off the entire principal and interest of said Bonds at the time in this ordinance specified. And at or be fore said Bonds, or any of them, are issued and sold the Mayor and City Council of the City of Fort Val¬ ley shall provide for an assessment and collection of an annual City tax sufficient in amount to pay off the principal and interest of said bonds so issued, as the same becomes due, meeting the semi-annual installments as the same become due and setting aside an annual sinking fund ent for the purpose of paying the principal of said Bonds on the date of their maturity. SECTION V. That the election herein provided j for shall be held at the election or voting precinct with the limits of the City of Fort Valley, Georgia, as fix ed by ordinance of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Fort Val ley, and shall be held by such per sons, and in the manner and under the rules and regulations provided by the Charter of the City of Fort Val ley, and the Acts of the amendatory thereof; and the re turns shall be made to the officials , calling the said election, who shall 1 in the presence of, and togethei with, the managers of said election consolidate said returns and declare the result, SECTION VI. ! That voters favoring the issue of said Bonds shall have written or upon their ballots the words: hOR SEWERAGE BONDS.
