LAST CALL!
Before em peach season recess during June and July.
Every Kiwanian should be In his seal without fail, prompt ly at
TWELVE O’CLOCK tomorrow—
FRIDAY, MAY 29
This Meeting will call for consideration of the proposed
bridge across the Flint river and other matters of VITAL in¬
terest. Prominent citizens of Taylor county will be our guests.
The war Id iim getting better “every day in every way.” The
y, Age’ ik but a passing fancy. The “Bootleg Era” will die of
its own making. The "Reign of Crime” by youth is a natural sc-'
yutnet to Jim. i. mi Bootleg and will pass into the discard with them.
And, what will bring about the better age, the better understanding
among all out people? The Church I The church is undergoing a
great reconstruction, It is combating many influences single handed
and Ith limited funds it is fighting Jaiaa, Bootleg, Suggestive Mo¬
vies, I-ewcl Theatrical Productions, Desecration of the Sabbath, Dis¬
honesty in Public Officials, Liberal Teaching in our Colleges and Dis¬
solution of the Home. Thu wonder of it is not that the church scums
to be slipping hut that in the face of these things it has been able
to endure at ail. In its reconstruction work of trying to re-align its
program with present day needs, be charitable in your criticism and
iiberai with your purse for. put this down as gospel truth, the
Church is ali that stands between the forces of evil and the advance¬
ment and prosperity of our country, Go to church Sunday, go early,
nit over in a secluded corner and ponder these things, And, when
the piate comes around, don’t hunt for a shiny nickel or a dime
with a hole in it but go into the old wallet and put on a bill, a V,
a ten-spot or $20 00 yellow buck. You won’t be doing the church
any favor thereby hut simply paying back a part of what you owe.
put for the Into church practice and through its underlying principles and what they stand for’,
truth in advertising have made the coun¬
try what jt is and are making it better, .better and ever better.
