BLAKELY ADVERTISES
Plans are under way for the pub¬
lication of a pamphlet on “Blakely,”
which will be circulated far and wide
when ready for distribution. The na¬
tural and commercial resources of
the Early county metropolis will be
pictured to the outside world, and
much good will be realized from this
exploitation. As soon as the tourists
who are flocking to Florida find that
the only thing they can raise on the
soil of that state is the price, the
natural consequence will be a return
to this section, and Blakely should
be ready to take advantage of her
opportunities. The booklet should be
ready in August. The News and oth¬
ers of the business men of Blakely
are co-operating with Dr. Gillam in
the “get-up” and financing of this
advertising scheme.—Early County

in all the principal cities in Georgia.
More than 300 men and women
throughout the state have accepted
positions in the campaign organiza¬
tion and since the movement was
gun last March more than 50
lic meetings have been held in various
towns and cities. “The splendid re¬
action of the public toward the edu¬

carrying on during the past three
months has been most remarkable,”
said Chairman Stovall.
“The people have indicated such
genuine interest in the project that
the Executive Committee feels cer¬
tain that a public campaign for sub¬
scriptions toward the million dollar
fund to be raised in Georgia for the
proposed college, will meet with com¬
plete success. It is probable that in
stead of a simultaneous campaign in
the fall, local campaigns will be held
successively in every county in Geor¬
gia.
