hundred and thirty three savings ac
counts for children of Central of
Georgia employes born during the
past year have been started by L.
A. Downs, President of the road, ac
cording to the last issue of the em
ploye’s magazine, The Right Way.
President Downs takes great interest
in the personal welfare of the road’s
ten thousand employes, and refers to
them as members of the Central of
Georgia Family. He urges the prac¬
tice of thrift and saving. About a
year ago he addressed a letter to
all employes, suggesting tliat they
start savings accounts. His interest
did not stop with this, but he makes

has explained how he built up a busi
ness of millions of packages a day.
He has done it by sticking to his

over a million dollars a year in buy
