S. of the chuir here and was sent to Vashti Indus trial school, from which she was graduated last year, by members of this society. The individual interests of every citizen is that for caution against fire accidents. Wooden structures are dry and sun-baked—roofs dry and easy of nition. Many flues may he congested with soot and if cool evenings invito especial precaution should be taken, providential reasons to serve the club as president for the year is a source of great disappointment to the members: she having been one of the most progressive and construe tive leaders the club has had and under whose leadership has made many forward strides in club life. Several new persons have been giv¬ en membership and Mrs. Green’s suc¬ cessor will be named at a general meeting of the club. In spite of the disappointment Mrs. Green’s resignation brings, the calen dar programs are most interesting and the club is entering into the new year with bright prospects for a splendid and successful club year. Ottley, president the Tallulah Falls School trustees an¬ nounces that the regular meeting of the trustees will be held in Atlanta September 22nd at 4:30 to 10:00 p. m. at the Atlanta Woman’s club house. The meeting will continue through dinner at which the Atlanta trustees have asked the privi lege of entertaining the Board, It has been the custom of the Atlanta trustees to entertain the Board at former meetings hut Mrs. Walter Lamar, of Macon, 1st vice president of the trustees asked at the Tallulah meeting that the out-of-Atlanta ( members have the pleasure of enter¬ taining at this meeting and the invi¬ tation was accepted. This is an important meeting of the Board of Trustees as it is the first meeting since the enlarged school with 100 people in the build¬ ing began to function and new prob¬ lems that are arising will have to be taken up at this meeting. A full attendance is urged. •(Continued on Page Ten) Miss Margaret Shepard Suffers a Broken Arm Friends of Miss Margaret Shepard will be sorry to learn of the painful accident she sustained Wednesday morning when she slipped on a rug and broke her arm across the elbow. Miss Shepard was planning to leave in about a week for Greensboro, N. C., to take charge of the Y. W. C. A. work there. The accident will occa¬ sion her delay as she will not be able to leave home at that time. A large number of Fort Valley folk enjoyed the protracted meetings at Providence church which were spon¬ sored by the Men’s Evangelistic Club.
