WHEREAS, on August 1, 1936, Forest Doles
executed to State Planters Bank & Trust
Company of Richmond, Virginia, certain prom¬
issory notes fully described in deed to secure
debt as hereinafter set out; and
WHEREAS, said indebtedness was secured
by a deed to secure debt executed by Forest
Doles to State Planters Bank & Trust Com¬
pany, said deed to secure debt being dated
August 1, 1986, and being recorded in the
office of the Clerk of the Superior Court of
Peach County on August 6, 1936; and
WHEREAS, said deed to secure debt con¬
veyed the property hereinafter described; and
WHEREAS, a portion of the indebtedness
described in said deed to secure debt and se¬
cured thereby was a note for One Thousand
Dollars ($1000.00) due June 15, 1938, and note
for One Thousand Dollars ($1000.00) due June
15, 1989. and note for One Thousand Dollars
($1000.00) due June 15, 1940, and note for
Five Thousand dye June 15, 1941 ; likewise,
an interest note due June 15, 1989, for Three
Hundred Eighty-Five Dollars ($385.00) and
interest note for Three Hundred Thirty Dol¬
lars ($880.00) due June 16, 1940 and an inter¬
est note for Two Hundred Seventy-Five Dol¬
lars due June 15, 1941 ; all signed by Forest
Doles and payable to the order of the State
Planters Bank & Trust Company; ami
WHEREAS, the said Forest Doles has failed
to pay the principal note for One Thousand
Dollars ($1000.00) due June 15, 1988 and the
principal note for One Thousand Dollars
($1000.00) due June 15, 1939 and has failed to
pay the interest note due June 15, 1989,
nmounting to Three Hundred Eighty-Five Dol¬
lars ($385.00) ; and
WHEREAS, said State Planters Bank &
Trust Company, by reason of the default afore¬
said, has exercised the option as provided in
said deed to secure debt and has declared the
entire indebtedness of principal and interest
as due and for the purpose of collecting said
indebtedness, is exercising the power of sale
contained in said deed to secure debt;
Will be sold before the door of the court
house of Peach County, Georgia, in Fort Val¬
ley, on the 7th day of November, 1939, this
being the' first. Tuesday in November, to the
highest and best bidder for cash, between the
legal hours of sale, the following described
property:
The following described property in the 8th
District of originally Macon, now Peach Coun¬
ty, Georgia, to-wit; AH of Lot 65, all of Lot
56 ; each containing 202% acres, more or less,
except 15 acres in the northeast corner of
2x>t 56; also all of lot 42; also all of lot 41;
except 60% acres In the northwest corner of
same; also the west 5-16 of Lots 23 and 24;
all of said property more particularly described
as follows: Beginning at the mid-point on
the north line of lot 41, run thence south
1484 feet; thence west 1480 feet; thence north
1484 feet to the northwest corner of lot 41;
thence run west 2969 feet to the northwest
corner of lot 66; thence run south 5969 feet
to the southwest corner of lot 55; thence run
east 6983 feet; thence north 5969 feet; thence
west 2534 feet to the starting point; less 15
a. in the N. E. corner of lot 56 as shown on
plat. Said lands containing in all eight hun¬
dred ninety and one-half (890.5) acres, more
or less, as shown by survey made by E. L.
Gostin, Civil Engineer, on April 17, 1918.
Being the same property conveyed the the
grantor herein by deed dated August 1st,
1985, from State- Planters Bank & Trust Com¬
pany, which deed is to be filed for record
along with this loan deed.
There will be due to State Planters Bank
& Trust Company on the date of sale by rea¬
son of the indebtedness secured by the deed
to secure debt, the sum of Eight Thousand
Dollars ($8000.00) Dollars principal, and Six
Hundred Seventy A 42-100 ($670.42) Dollars
interest, besides the expense of these proceed
There is also outstanding and due
against said property taxes due the State of
Georgia and County of Peach for the years
1987, 19$6 and 1939 and the purchaser at said
sale will buy said property subject to these
outstanding taxes.

NEW CANCER CLINIC
OPENED FOR SERVICE
TO ALL OF GEORGIA
ATLANTA.—Dedicated, as is the
entire hospital, to the service of
“Helping Humanity Lift the Load,”
the enlarged Sheffield Clinic of Geor¬
gia Baptist hospital, was formally
opened in its new building last week
with ceremonies in which many prom¬
inent individuals participated.
The clinic, made possible through
the gift of more than $27,000 by Hon.
I. M, Sheffield, Atlanta business ex¬
ecutive, has been so equipped that it
is considered one of the most up-to
date cancer centers in the country.
The Sheffield clinic will render a
statewide service in fighting cancer, >*
said W. 1). Barker, superintendent of
Georgia Baptist. "Diagnosis will be
made without charge. All who have
a suspicion of cancer are invited and
urged to come to this clinic for exam¬
ination, after which they will be given
advice as to what further steps to
take.
The new clinic is an enlargement
and modernization of a clinic opened
at Georgia Baptist hospital June 1,
1934, as the result of a donation by
bocker hospital, New York, who also
conducted the opening clinic.
Others on the program included
greetings by Governor Rivers and
Mayor Hartsfield, Dr. Ryland Knight,
Baptist minister; Dr. James W. Mer¬
ritt, secretary of the hospital com¬
mission; Rev. E. M. Altman, vice
president of Georgia Baptist conven¬
tion; Dr. Edgar D. Shanks, secretary,
Medical Association of Georgia; Dr.
Edgar H. Greene, president, Fulton
County Medical Society; Mrs. H. B.
Ritchie, state commander, Women’s
Field Army for Cancer Control; and
an address by Ellis A. Fuller, chair¬
man of the hospital commission.
