HARTLEY-PITNER MARRIAGE SOLEMNIZED AT
METHODIST CHURCH SI A DAY AFTER NOON
In a candlelight ceremony at the
Fort Valley Methodist Church Sun¬
day afternoon at three o’clock, De¬
cember 26, Miss Mamie Miller Hart¬
ley and J. M. Pitner, of Acworth. were
married.
The nuptial altar was decorated
with Areka palms and fern, the floral
note being effected with white bas
kets of white gladioli. Seven-branched
cathedral candelbra held the
candles.
The wedding music was played by
Mrs. V. L. Brown, organist. Mr. Har
mon Pitner, Acworth, sang Ah.
Mystery of Life and Because, and
was accompanied by Mrs. Pitner, or

showered with valley lilies.
Her only ornament was a strand
pearls, the gift of the groom, and
carried a blue handkerchief,
trimmed, made in Belgium.
Following the church
Mrs. W. Sanford Hartley, the
mother, enteratined at a reception
her home. There the rooms were
rated with white carnations and
mosis fern. The table was
with net over white satin, and
with sprays of carnations at

Mamie Hartley, bride-elect.
The party was given at the home
of her grandmother, Mrs. J. L. Long,
and Mrs. Long and Mrs. Charles Cul¬
pepper assisted in entertaining.
The home was decorated with gar¬
lands of Christmas greenery and the
flowers used were camellias. Red
completed the decorations.
A silhouette contest was enjoyed
and the prize was won by,Miss Emily
Shipp who presented the gift of silver
to the honoree.
A salad course with hot tea was
served.
