Macon County Parish of the Lu¬
theran Church met on Monday
night at the home of Mrs. Alva
Harbuck. Mrs. G. Lucius Williams
of Ideal, president, presided.
Taking part on the program
were Mrs. C. T. Harden, and Mrs.
T. C. Powers of Oglethorpe. Mrs.
Williams led th meditation
During the social hour, refresh
ments were served by the hostess.
Garden Club Holds
Monthly * Meeting C?
The Marshallville Garden Club,
of which Mrs. John C. Walker,
Jr., is president, held the May
meeting on Friday afternoon at
the Community House.
Miss Willie Rice talked on the
Cultivation of Day Lillies. Miss
Rice was presented with a gift,
for having made the most points
at the monthly flower shows.
Mrs. D. L. Massee was appoint¬
ed the chairman of next year’s
annual Camellia Show, which will
e held on February 25.
The hostesses for the afternoon
were Mrs. John C. Walker, Sr.,
Mrs. L. N. Taffar, Miss Florence
Lester, and Mrs. D. B. Frederick.
The meetings are suspended
during the summer months. The
next meeting will be in Septem¬
ber.

the House Dress contest, which

stratum Club. The 4-H and Home
Demonstration Clubs met in Mon
tezuma.

! Soil Conservation
Two thousand bass have been
delivered to six Crawford County
farmers cooperating with the Oc
mugee Soil Conservation District
to stock fish ponds.
The ponds were built as a part
of a complete soil and water con
servation plan when the ponds
were completed the fish were re
quested by the soil conservation
service, and delivered to the pond
| owners by the fish and wildlife
service.
The cooperators getting the bass
are L. H. Hortman, W. F. Stem
bridge, J. B. McGee, C. G. Rowell,
W. H. Seagler and D. M. Thylor.
