The congregation of St. An¬
drew’s will observe the Feast of
Pentecost at both the 8:00 A.M.
and the 11:00 A.M. services with
the celebration of the Holy Com¬
munion. The Church School will
meet at 9:45 A.M. with classes
for all ages.
The Feast of Pentecost is one
of the major holidays of the Chris¬
tian year. On this day we com¬
memorate the coming of the Holy
Spirit upon the Apostles in the
upper room. In the celebration
of this fact of history, we remind
ourselves that it is the Holy Spir¬
it who works in and through the
church and gives us the strength
to do God’s Holy will. The collect
for Pentecost:
“Almighty and most merciful
God, grant we-beseech thee, that
by the indwelling of thy Holy
Spirit, we may be enlightened and
strengthened for thy service
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
who liveth and reigneth with thee
in the unity of the same Spirit
ever, one God, \%>rld without end.
Amen.”
