servation District, described as
follows:
Notice is hereby given that on
the 10th day of July, 1953 between
the hours of 9:00 a. m. and 4:00
m., an election will be held
Farmers Market
Sets Opening Day
The public is cordially invited
to attend the annual Farmers Day
program and an old fashioned bar¬
becue to be held at the State Farm¬
ers Market at Cordele next Tues¬
day June 30 at 11 a. m., accord¬
ing to Rev. M. J. Bennett, general
chairman of arrangements.
The Farmers Day program is a
major event in connection with the
month-long Watermelon Festival
sponsored each year in Cordele by
the Retail Merchants Division of
the Crisp County Chamber of Com¬
merce. Floyd Keeney, chairman of
the Merchants organization joins
Mr. Fletcher and others in extend¬
ing the invitation to farmers, bus¬
inessmen and their families in the
farmers day program June 30.
Horace Musselwhite, manager of
the Cordele State Farmers Mar¬
ket, is cooperating in planning the
program and barbecue and has an¬
nounced that all sales will be stop
ned on the market for the program.
He urges everyone to visit the
market for the day.
T. Edgar Fletcher, chairman of
the board of directors of the mar¬
ket, has announced that Hon. Tom
Under, State Commissioner of Ag¬
riculture, will be the principal
speaker.

the courthouse in Fort Valley,
Georgia.
Persons qualified to vote in a
general election under the Consti¬
tution of the State of Georgia
are elegible to vote in the election
of supervisors.
Only those persons residing
within the Ocmulgee Soil Conser¬
vation District will be eligible to
vote in the election of supervisors.
July 3, 1953 is the closing date
the State Soil Conservation Com¬
mittee will accept nominations for
candidates for the election. Nom¬
inations must be in the office of
the Secretary of the State Com¬
mittee faddress below) not later
than July 3, 1953.
The signature of 25 qualified
voters is required to nominate a
candidate.
