C. Newberg (right), Dodge president, to Arthur J. Connell (center),
National Commander of the American Legion, at a dinner ceremony
In Detroit, Friday. The Dodge touring ear was the first automobile
lised in combat by the U. S. Army during the Mexican Punitive Ex¬
pedition in 1916 and is also believed to be the first staff car of General
John J. Pershing. Standing “guard” at the left Is Ed Herz, of 12009
Parlow, Detroit, who participated in the Mexican campaign as a
member of the 31st Michigan Infantry.

and Mr. Marsharll is a native of
