Miss Jane Wilson Becomes Bride Of
Mr. Blood worth
Miss Jane Wilson became the
bride of Henry Seam.' n Blood
worth of Macon, in a candlelight
ceremony taking place at the
Methodist Church Sunday after¬
noon, April 22. at four o’clock.
The bridal altar was decorated
with a background of Emerald
green, against which cathedral
baskets held the blossoms of white
gladioli and chrysanthemums, and
the seven - branched condlebra
fermed a wreath of glow.
The Rev. Granville N. Rainey
performed the double ring cere¬
mony. Mrs. Z. Chester Wilson
was organist, and Lucius Powell,
of Columbus, was soloist and sang
“0 Promise Me,” arid “I Love
You Truly.”
The ushers were: G. William
Epps, Dr. 0. Richard Thompson,
Jr., J. Emory Clay, Jr., Joseph L.
Carson, Larry p'ortney, Steve D.
Martin, Jr., Benjamin P. O-Neal
III and Claude Wilson, Jr., brother
of the bride. The best man was
Mr. George H. Bloodworth, father
of the groom.
The bridesmaids were: Miss Jo¬
an Pilcher, Warrenton; Miss Bet¬
ty Jordon, Fort Valley; Miss Em*
elyn Allmond, Vidalia; Miss Eloise
Sadler, Tazewell, Va.; Miss Joan
Ordway, Birmingham, Ala. Their
gowns were made of tulle and
crystallette of turquoise shade,
and they carried bouquets of yel¬
low glory roses, satin-tied, and
wore clusters of the same blos¬
soms in their hair.
Mrs. Plugh Smisson, Jr., of Au¬
gusta, and cousin of the bride
was matron of honor and she wore
a dress of tulle over taffeta of
sunglow yellow with matching
Stoll, and carried petal-pink Cav¬
alier roses with blossoms of the
lame in her hair.

son. She was robed in nylon * tulle
and Chantiily lace made over brid
al satin, the bodice featuring a
sweetheart neckline, and the bouf
fant , . skirt, , . , appliqued with lace. ,

tached to a Juliet cap of lace
adorned with seed pearls. She
carried a white Bible, a gift of hei
uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs.
Chester Wilson, and it was mount
ed with a white orchid and show
ered with stephanotis and valley
lilies.
At the conclusion of the cere¬
mony Lucius Powell sang a pray
er.
The reception was given in the
Fellowship Building cf the church
by the parents of the bride. There
the blossoms used for decoration
were of white gladioli, roses and
stock. The four-tiered cake rose
from a circlet of plaited tulle,
adorned with miniature white blos¬
soms, and was embossed with
symbols of turtle-doves and wed¬
ding ring. There were faint tra¬
ceries of green in the cake decor¬
ation. A silver ejergne held white
blossoms and silver candleabra
held white candles, and the white
mints, molded as wedding bells,
were in silver bonbon holders.
The cake was cut by the bride’s
aunt, Mrs. Wallis Hardeman. The
bride’s book was kept by Miss
Nelle Haredman.
After the reception the young
couple left for a wedding trip to
Florida and for traveling the
bride wore a black raw-silk three
piece suit with yellow trim, and a
white hat of starched lace,
trimmed with yellow, and other
accessories of white. Her corsage
was a white orchid. On return¬
ing to Georgia Mr. and Mrs.
Bloodworth will make their home
at 445 Pinecrest Road, Macon.
F’or the wedding the bride’s
mother wore a delph blue lace
dress wifeh a matching hat, and
her corsage was a white orchid.
Mrs. Bloodworth, mother of the
groom, was gowned in a dusty
rose chiffon dress with beaded
neckline, a chiffon hat, and a
white orchid corsage.

Mrs. J. F, Wilder has returned
home after spending a week in
Thomaston to which place she
was called by the illness of her
brother, Mr. Julian Boyers, who is
in the Upson County Hospital.
Airman 2 / C Lewis Lancaster,
returned to McDill Field, Tampa,
P’la., Tuesday after a visit here
to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W.
Lancaster.
Miss Margaret McKinnon, of
the faculty of Wesleyan College,
spent the week-end here with her
sister, Mrs. Henry A. Mathews,
and Mr. Mathews.

Mrs. Ralph Bassett of Fort Val¬
ley, Georgia, announces the en¬
gagement of her daughter,
Elizabeth, to 1st Lt. Kenneth
Maurice Brink, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Maurice Brink of
Ohio.
Miss Bassett was graduated
from Georgia State College
Women. She is now teaching in
elementary school at Fort
Ky. Lt. Brink was graduated
from Perdue University where
was a member of the Theta Chi
F’raternity. He is presently as¬
signed as an instructor in the
Armored School, Fort Knox, Ky.

here Sunday, April 22, at 12:30
o’clock. The group of hostesses
included Mrs. Newt n W. Jordan,
Jr., Miss Thelma Wilson, Mrs.
j William Wilson, Mrs. Bennett Rig
don, Mrs. Clyde Wilson and
Gene Burnett.
•The mantle of the assembly
room was banked with the green
ei'y of Grandiflora Magnolia and
other shrub decorations. The buf
fet luncheon table was overland
with a satin cloth and decorated
* with a center arrangement of
white blossims. The guests were
seated at tables that were over
, la.d . with white covers, and
tered with white blossoms, and all
decorations emphasized the green
and white color scheme.
There were 60 guests enter
tained including members of the
family of the bride and groom,
out-of-town guests and bridal
party.

Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Lee and
three children spent several days
this week in Nashville, Tenn.
Leonard Dure, cf Austin, Texas,
who has been visiting his mother,
Mrs. Leighton Dure left Saturday
for his home and was accompanied
by Mrs. Louis PI. Smisson who is
visiting Mr. and Mrs. Dure, and
will visit later Capt. Louis Smis¬
son, Jr., and Mrs. Louis Smisson,
in San Antonio, Texas.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kinney and
son were called to South Carolina
the past week-end by the death of
Mrs. Kinney’s brother-in-law.
