Meet Wednesd av
The 4 ' H c!ub of the Friendship
Community ^ heid its seventh meet¬
ing of the year Wednesday night
at the Community House, and
Jimmie Ray, the president, pre¬
sided.
He presented Mr. Tommy Wal¬
ton, Mr. Mcrris and Mr. Smith, of
Athens. A film was shown by Mr.
Smith. Advisory talks were giv¬
en by Mr. Walker and Mr. Morris
relative to community improve
ment.
There were thirty members 1
attended. A benefit barbecue
planned, the proceeds to be
used to equip a restroom for the
Community House. The 4-H Club
advisors are Mrs. Ray, Mrs. Blas
ingame, Mrs. Taylor and Mrs. Bry¬
ant.

Party Given
Honoring Mr. and Mrs. Clyde
H. Baldwin, of Charleston, West
Virginia, and Mr. and Mrs. James
Baldwin, of Houston, Texas, an
alfresco supper party was given
Tuesday evening, May 1, by Mrs.
George W. Spear at her home on
Troutman Avenue. The visitors
are spending the week in Fort
Valley with Mrs. Speak, the mo¬
ther of Mrs. James Baldwin.
There were about twenty guests
present, including friends in the
neighborhood.
Mrs. James Baldwin, and Mr.
James Baldwin and their ycung
son, Jimmie, expect to return to
Texas next Monday. Mrs. Bald¬
win is the former Miss Kathleen
Spear, of Fort Valley.
Speech Recitals
To Be Held

of the Grammar School and Junior
High School in two recitals to be
given Monday evening and Tues
day evening, May 7 and 8, the pro
grams to begin at 7:45. There
will be no charge for admission

Sirs. Collins Dies
In Ellaville
The many friends in Fort Val¬
ley of Mrs. E. E. Collins, of Ella
ville, regret to learn of her death
which occurred after a short ill
ness. Mrs. Collins, the sister of
Mrs. J. A. L. Wilson, of Andersc n
Avenue, Fort Valley, was a fre¬
quent visitor here..
The funeral service was held
Sunday afternoon at four o’clock
at the Ellaville Methodist Church,
and the interment was in the El¬
laville Cemetery.

The Young Woman’s Auxiliary
of the Baptist Woman’s Mission¬
ary Union met Tuesday afternoon
at the church with Mrs. Robert
