Cub Scout Track
Meet Held Here
The Annual Cub Scout Track
Meet was held at Anderson Field
last Thursday afternoon, April
26th. Coach Norman Fairclcth
handled the meet in fine fashion
for the Cubs under Cub Master
Bill Hudson.
Den 3 won the meet with 28 Vi
points. Mrs, Duke Lane is Den
Mother of the winning Den. Sec¬
ond place went to Den 4 with 22
points, under Mrs. Warren Green,
while Den 1 under Mrs. H. F. Me
Elroy had 8 points for third
place. Den 2 was a close fourth
with points for third place.
Mrs. Jce Kinney is Den Mother.

in Fort Valley last week when the
group was touring the state. They
were acco mpanied on the toil*" in
this area by W. Houser Davidson
who spoke to the Kiwanis Club at
its luncheon meeting Friday of
the visit of the editors and of the
favorable impression made by this
section. In Fcrt Valley they vis
ited the campus of the Fort Valley
State College. They were par¬
ticularly impressed with Geor¬
gia’s educational facilities as they
visited different areas of the
state.

held its regular monthly meeting
last Tuesday night, May 1, 1956

ed that the farmers depend upon
water to raise their crops and

depends upon him (the farmer)
to guard its precious water sup¬
ply through applying good soil
and water conservation
