Letter To Editor
Fort Valley, Georgia
May 9, 1956
Dear Mr. Grahl:
As a private citizen, as Chair¬
man of the Beautification Corn¬
in'ttee of the Garden Club, and as
Chairman of the Community De¬
velopment Committee of the Cham
her of Commerce, I would like to
take this means of expressing my
sineerest gratitude to every indi¬
vidual who gave in effort ranging
from so much as a smile of ap¬
proval, dollars and cents, to days
and days of hard work, by way
of City Beautification, Highway
Beautification, expressions of com
pliments to our community, par¬
ticipation and assistance in Com
munity Stunt Night, or in any
way small or great assisted in the
promotion of community pride.
Our people always demonstrate
a marked degree of talent and
ability in whatever they under¬
take.
In our “Fort Valley Forward”
goal we have attained a creditable
stan in city beautification, high¬
way beautification, and develop¬
ment of community consciousness.
As time goes along I hope we
shall be able to convert some por
ticn of these attainments into our
ast and most coveted goal—in¬
dustrial expansion.
Sincerely,
Irving Higdon
