The ceremony was performed by Dr. Rufus D. Hod ges in the home of the bride’s par ents at noon on October 17th. The bride was graduated from Emory University where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Study Club Met October 20th Miss Norma Boyer, Mrs. Ed Mathews, Mrs. R. P. Houser and Mrs. George Wheaton were hostes ses to the Fort Valley Study Club when its members gathered at the home of Mrs. Paul Janney on Tuesday afternoon, October 20th. Following the business session, which was directed by the presi dent of the club, Mrs. Ashby Mc Cord, Jr,, an interesting program was enjoyed. Mrs. Frank Vinson gave an account of her recent trip to Russia, and Mr. Ernest Ander son gave a short talk on informa tion concerning the school bond e lection. Those present at the meeting were Mrs. E. R. Anderson, Mrs. A. H. Barnett, Mrs. N. P. Bassett, Mrs. Earl Beatty, Mrs. J. E. Broad rick, Mrs. V. L. Brown, Jr., Mrs. A. J. Evans, Mrs. J. E. Hollings worth, Mrs. R. L. Marchman, Mrs. T. A. McCord, Jr., Mrs. S. J. Mc Gehee, Mrs. Malcolm Taylor, Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. Henry Mathews, Mrs. Frank Vinson, Mr. E. R. Anderson and the hostesses. sorority. She is now employed by the Fulton County Board of Edu cation. Her grandparents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Edgar G. Sim mons and Drf and Mrs. Clarence D. Graves of Dublin. The groom also graduated from Emory University where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Phi Beta Kappa fraternities. He is in his senior year at Emory Medical School. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas W. Oliver of Eastman, and the late Mr. and Mrs. John C. Walker of Marshallville. The bride wore a champagne beige two - piece dress of wool knit and carried a bouquet of gar denias and stephanotis. Miss Lucy Graves, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. She wore a light green wool dress and carried a bouquet of stephanotis and pink rosebuds. The groom chose his father, Jer ome Walker, Sr. as best man. Following the ceremony, a wedd ing breakfast was served and the bride’s cake cut. After their re turn from a wedding trip to High land, N. Miss Byrd, graduate of Levonia High School and of North Georgia Technical School, Clarksville, is j now employed at the University of Georgia.
