Winners Named
In “Crazy 8” Races
Last Friday night the Oval “8”
races were rained out, but the fans
still remember the thrills from the
last race.
Heat No. 1 got off to a spin-out .
start. Theo Crapps, who wiped the
rails clean, lost to Bill Franks
A. W. Vickers won 1st place in
the second heat.
In the consolation race, while
Cliff Newell and N. E. Woodard
were feuding for first place, La
mar Stevens sneaked around and
won it.
A1 Smith introduced the feature
with a three-car pile-up. Malonee
and Quick wrecked putting Quick
out of the race with Woodard as
winner and Smith claiming 2nd.
Unlucky thirteen cars lined up
for the “Crazy Eight”. A wheel
went bouncing high and hard a
gainst the fence that protects the
fans. Pete Epps, who thought he
had a cinch win, spun out on the
last lap, causing Malonee to crash
into him. Theo Crapps won.
The Petticoat Derby was called
off for lack of cars available, but
will be run Friday night if cars
can be had.

Art Center
Now that the attractive sign is
up, Fort Valley knows that an Art
Center is on its way, in a blaze of
many colors.
It is hoped that the gay assort
ment of hues will interest people
in asking about the new project.
Paint has been donated by Avera’s,
Spillers’ Bros. Lumber Co., S. M.
Wheless, and the building has
been lent by the Evans family.
Work is being done by interested
members. Come by to help paint
and clear the weeds.
