Miss Frances Rose Garrett Is Wed To
Mr. James Monroe Vincent On July 6
The First Methodist Church of
Fort Valley was the scene Satur
day, July 6th at five o’clock of
the marriage of Miss Frances
Rose Garrett to James Monroe
Vincent with the Rev. Vernon
P.obviL.or. cf Valdosta officiating.
Mr. James Bruce Williams, cousin
. f. the f;ride was organist and Miss
Patsy Thomas sang.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Guffie LaFayette
Garrett of Fort Valley and grand
daughter of Mrs. H. V. Williams,

Fort Valley, Mr. Vincent is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mon
roe Vincent of Grand Island, New
York.
The bride’s father g@ve her in
marriage. She wore a long gown
of organza over taffeta with high
rise bodice and hem of the slim
rkirt apnliqued in Aiencon lace
ai d learls. A tierra of seed pearl*
held her veil and she carried a
cascade liouquet of white roses,
amazon lilies and stephanotis.
Her attendants wore long gowns
of fuschia with arrangements of
Garnet roses in their hair and car
ried colonial bouquets of Forever
Yours Roses with matching vel
vet riblbon. They were: Mrs. John
Garrett Pearson of Fort Valley,
matron of honor, Bridesmaids
were Mrs. Joseph Lee Pearson of
Fort Valley, Miss Gale Terry of
Columbus, Miss Virginia Wilson
or’ Griffin, Miss Margaret Wil
liams of Fort Valley, Mrs. Mar
ion Erickson of Orlando, Florida,
and Miss Debbie Dunningi of Fort
Valley, Ga.
Mr. Vincent had Mr. Robert
Barr of Niagara Falls, New York

Miss Frances Rose Garrett was

her marriage July 6 to James
Monroe Vincent. The first of the
series of parties given was a mis
cellaneous shower given in
York on April 27 by Mr. and
J. M. Vincent and Mr. and
G. M. Erickson. On June 12 a
kitchen shower at the home
Mrs. Grace Swan. On June 13, a
shower-tea at the Pine Needles
Country Club by Mrs. Stafford
Rooks, Mrs. Duke Lane and Mrs.
P. B. Little, Jr. June 19 a Bridge

at the home of Mrs. David Janies

John G. Pearson and Mrs. Joseph
Lee Pearson.

CHURCH NEWS
The W. M. S. and Brotherhood
of Benevolence Baptist Church
held their monthly meeting Tues
day night, July 2nd. Mrs. Rosa
Greer presided over the business
session and Mrs. Catherine Clark
directed the program on Missions.
Following the program, refresh
ments were served by the hostes
ses, Mrs. Mattie McEarchein and
Mrs. Helen Cummings.

ley Methodist Chapel with Elder
