patronage of Bobby Brown State
Park, located on Clark Hill Res
ervoir in Elbert County, about 18
miles southeast of Elberton.
The 664-acre park, reached via
Georgia Highway 79, has a com
paratively new swimming pool,
developed campgrounds and offers
fishing, boating and skiing for all
ages in the average family-style
camping group.
As an example of the growing
interest in this kind of outdoor
recreation, Bobby Brown State
Park recorded a 66 per cent to
tal revenue increase in June over
the same a month ago.
This is divided between conces
sons, 36 per cent; swimming, 66
per cent, and tenting^ 91 per cent.
The tent site patronage for the
month amounted to $516 compar
ed with June, 1967, when the a
mount was $270.
An improvement scheduled for
the park is the provision of water
and electrical outlets dstributed
to conveniently accessible points
in the immediate vicinity of the
tent sites. Work will be carried
out as soon as feasible and before
the summer season is over, Gor
don said.
