The City of Byron will hold a special election to fill the
unexpired term of Alderman Bobby Evridge. The election
will be held on Monday, January 12, 1981 in the Byron

that the office of DA needs more than a
competent trial attorney He said that
his value would be to provide strong
moral leadership and to provide an
administrative oversight for the
functions of the office.
Mobley is an owner of the law firm
Minccy, Kenmore & Bennett He is a
graduate of Jonesboro High School,
Mercer University, Mercer University
School of law, and Emory University
School of Law in Atlanta He has lived
in Macon for the last 20 years He is
married and has one child, Mobley is
an Eagle Scout, a member of St. J ames
Episcopal Church, arid until recently
was t j, e chairman of the Bibb County
Republican Parry He has been a
self-employed attorney for thc past 12
years
Mobley is one of five candidates who
are running for the district attorney's
post in a special election set for
January 27, 1981
JOE WILLIAMS
Joe Williams, a Macon attorney, has
announced his candidacy for the office
of District Attorney of the Macon
Judicial Circuit.
Williams stated that stricter
prosecution of habitual offenders
would be the key to reducing the
number of vtolent crimes He stated
that he plans to use habitual offender
laws to deal with repeat offenders
Williams also stated that he is
concerned with a number of issues
