Catherine Elizabeth Carson,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Ferdinand Carson Jr., of Greensboro,
North Carolina, and David Gordon
Myer, son of lieutenant General
(retired) and Mrs. Charles Robert
Myer erf Great Falls, Virginia, were
united in marriage on Saturday, June
9, 1984, ar the First Baptist Church in
Greensboro, North Carolina.
The bride is the granddaughter
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Eugene Johnson
Fort Valley. Ferdinand Paternal grandparents and are the
Mrs. Carson Sr.,
late Dr. Carson of Reynolds.
The Reverend Shelby Royal
Gretna, Virginia, and formerly
Montezuma, Georgia, officiated in
ceremony. Special music was
by Terry Harmon of Staunton,
Virginia, vocal soloist; Jeff Fmk
High Point, North Carolina, organist;
and Benjy Springs of Greensboro,
North Carolina, trumpet.
Given in marriage by her father, the
bride wore a "Scarlet O'Hara style i *
dress of chiffon and lace with a tiered
skirt over taffeta. The sweetheart
neddined bodice was embroidered
with seed pearls as were lace appliques
on the headpiece and veil. Die dress
and veil were cathedral length. She
carried a bouquet of yellow roses and
stephanotis
Carla Lassiter of Greensboro, N.C.,
was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were
Sandy Clark of High Point, N.C., Grace
Forbis of Greensboro, N.C., Suzanne
Mikkelson of Stafford, Va., Mary Myer
(sister of the groom) of Alexandria,
Va. ; Camille Sutton of Newport News,
Neighborhood Center to distribute food

Service Center will be distributing
commodities on June 19. 1984 at
Everett Square. Blue card holders
come in 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Pink
card holders come in 1:00 p.m. to 4:00

Their gowns were teal chiffon over
taffeta and were trimmed with yellow
ribbon. They carried bouquets of silk
yellow roses and daisies and wore
picture hats which were trimmed with
teal ribbon and flowers matching the
bouquets. Jennifer Myer (niece of the
groom) was a junior bridesmaid; she
wore a dress of yello chiffon over
taffeta trimmed with teal ribbon and
she carried a smaller jxiuquet also of
silk yellow roses and daisies. Her
headpiece was a headband covered
with flowers matching her bouquet
The groom's father was the best
man. Ushers were Randy Carson
(brother of the bride) of Greensboro,
N.C.; Steve Myer (brother of the
groom) of West Point, N Y.; David
Prehn of Felham, Ala.) Rick Ross of
Springfield, Va.; Benjy Springs of
Greensboro, N.C.; and Bob Walp of
Alexandria, Va. The ushers were
outfitted in charcoal gray cut-away
tuxedos.
Amy Jones (cousin of the bride) of
Montezuma, Ga., and Matthew Myer
(nephew of the groom) of West Point,
N.Y., were ringbearers. Nicole Myer
(niece of the groom) of West Point,
N.Y., was flower girl. All were dressed
in white.
Following the ceremony, Mr. and
Mrs. Carson entertained the guests at
a reception in the Alumni House at the
University, of North Carolina in
Greensboro, After a honeymoon at
Hilton Head, South Carolina, the
couple will reside in Fairfax, Virginia

Deanna Lee Scarborough and
Samuel Rumph Grice Jr., were married
Saturday, June 9, at Mabel White
Memorial Baptist Church. The bride is
the daughter erf Mrs. Jimmie Morris
Scarborough and the late Mr.
Scarborough of Macon, and the groom
is the son of Mrs. Samuel Rumph Grice
and the late Mr. Grice of Marshailville.
Dr. Jim Phillips officiated with Faye
Wiggins as organist and Tyger
Hopkins as soloist.
Joy Culpepper was maid of honor.

Tennessee, and now is attending
Trevccca Nazarene College in their
pre-nursing program In the next
school year, she will be the president of
the Christian Workers in Action club.
She is to finish her nursing education
at Mid-America Nazarene College,
Olathcr, Kansas, and plans to enter the
medical missions field. She is a
member of the First Church of the
Nazarene in Fort Valley, Georgia She
is the granddaughter of Loma B
Peppers and the late John Ernest
Peppers
The grtxmi to-be is a graduate of the
Blountstown High School of Blounts
town, Florida, and has a Bachelor of
Arts in Religion degree from Trevicea
Nazarene College He is currently
surving as youth pastor of Radnor
Church of the Nazarene in Nashville,

Mr and Mrs Herman F. Lanier of
Bonaire, announce the engagement of
their daughter, Audrey Marie Lanier,
to James M. Davis He is the son of
Mr and Mrs, Jack L. Davis of Warner
Robins.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter
of Mrs H H Jarriel and the late Mr
Jarriel of Collins and Mrs H. H Lanier
and the late Mr, Lamer of Metier
She is a 1980 honor graduate of
Warner Robins High School, a 1984
honor graduate of Georgia Tech, and a
member of Beta Gamma Sigma
national honorary.

He is a 1980 honor graduate of
