Karen Duke to perform
in “The Gondoliers 99
Miss Karen Duke, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Jimmie Duke, will be
performing the role of Vittoria with
The Southeastern Savoyard Opera Co.
in their production of, “The
Gondoliers”, October 4-7 and October
12-14, at the Center Stage Theatre in
Atlanta.
The Savoyard Company is a
professional, full-season Repertory
Company devoted exclusively to the
operas of Gilbert and Sullivan.
The company stages four produc
tions in a 12 month season, beginning
in April. The cast, including nationally
known feature performers and lavishly
costumed choruses, total some 30
professional singers supported by the
12 piece orchestra.
Although The Savoyard Company is
a young organization, the Company
has set a new standard of excellence
for operatic productions in the South.
Gov. Treuthen Chapter to meet
The Governor Treutlen Chapter,
NSDAR, will meet Wednesday,
October 10, 1984, at 3:30 p.m. at the
home of Mrs. Rose Garrett. Co-hostess
will be Mrs. Rose Leslie.
The program will consist of a
reading of the resolutions that were
passed at the 93rd. Continental
Congress last April
