Ms. Carman Haussner, daugh¬

Napoleon Miller of Kingsland, Ga.
and Floye Wingate Cooner of
Yulee, Fla. and the late Norwood
Cobb Cooner of Kingsland, Ga.
She is a 1982 graduate of The
Lakeside School in Eufaula and re¬
ceived a bachelor's and master’s de¬
grees in early childhood education
for the handicapped from Auburn
University. She is pursuing a de¬
gree in occupational therapy. She is

of Donald Floyd Neuner in lovely wedding
On Saturday, November 10,
1990, Karen Elizabeth Duke,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James
Victor Duke of Fort Valley, became
the bride of Mr. Donald Floyd Ne¬
uner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus
Milton Neuner of Bamesville, in a
candlelight ceremony.
The bride’s uncle, the Reverend
Doctor L.G. Sapp of Fort Valley
and the Reverend J.B. McNeil of
Dalton, performed the double ring
ceremony.
The church was decorated in a
typical southern manner with can
dlelabra, smilax and magnolia. Mu¬
sic for the ceremony was performed
by Sue Goddard, organ, Gregory
Colson, harpsichord, Gregory Hol¬
land, trumpet, Juanita Maley, flute,
Jay Moss, violin, Julie Woodall,
piano, Stuart Neil, tenor, Jane
Came, soprano, and Samuel Burch,
baritone. Instrumental selections
included William Bradbury's "Jesus
Loves Me", Telemann's "Suite in
A-Minor", Haydn’s "Concerto In
Eb, Bach’s "Prelude and Fugue in
Eb,”, and Mouret’s "Rondeau" from
Sinfonies de Fanfares. Vocal selec¬
tions included Handel's "Dearly
Beloved", Gounod's "Entreat Me

hymn.
The bride, given is marriage by
her father, wore a gown of white
satin featuring a sunburst pleated
bodice with appliques of Venetian
lace and pearls. The long shirred ex¬
tended to a cathedral length train
with lace and pearls edging the scal¬
loped hemline. Her veil of silk illu¬
sion fell from a tiara of lace ac¬
cented with pearls and sequins. The
bride's bouquet was designed in a
cascade of Casablanca lillies,
stephonotis, roses and pixie carna¬
tions. She also carried a lace hand
kerchief, a gift from Mrs. S.B. Ne¬
uner, grandmother of the groom.
Vicky Duke Adams of Fayet¬
teville was her sister's matron-of
honor. Bridesmaids were Tracy
Duke of Fort Valley, niece of the
bride, Sandra Neuner Carter of Lil
bum, sister of the groom, Marelle
Carter of Lilburn, niece of the
groom, Joyce Neuner of Alpharetta,
sister-in-law of the groom, Susan
Culpepper Johnston of Jonesboro,
Maureen Pearman of Barnesville
College and a master's degree in
middle grade education. She is cur¬
rently employed by the Peach
County Board of Education.
The groom-elect is the grandson
of Mr. Ulase Lewis and Mr. Wilson
Livsey, both of Massachusetts.
Mr. Lewis graduated from the
King High School in Detroit in
1980. He is a sergeant in the Air
Force and is currently stationed at
Kedena Air Force Base, Okinawa,
Japan where the couple will reside.
The wedding is planned for March
23 at 3 p.m. at Fairview C.M.E.
Church in Fort Valley. A reception
will follow at the Hunt Cultural
Center cafeteria.

length gowns of jade moire taffeta
featuring scooped necklines and
puffed sleeves. The straight skirts
were accented with a peplum and
self bow. They carried bouquets of
pink and rose colored roses, En¬
chantment lillies, alstromeria and
rose celosia. They wore earrings of
an original design which were gifts
of the bride. Misses Ashley Annette
Adams and Amy Alice Adams,
daughters of Mr. and Mrs. William
W. Adams of Fayetteville and
nieces of the bride were flower
girls. They wore dresses fashioned
like those of the bridesmaids and
carried baskets of pink rose petals.
Mr. Cyrus Neuner of Bar
nesville was his son's best man.

groom, James B. Duke, of Greens¬
boro, N.C., brother of the bride, T.

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
The City of Byron is considering applying to the Georgia Department
of Community Affairs for a Small Cities Community Development Block
Grant of up to 5400,000.00. these funds must be used for one of the
following purposes:
1. To benefit low and moderate income persons; or
2. To aid in the prevention or elimination of slums or blight; or
3. To meet other community development needs having a particular
urgency because existing conditions pose a serious and immediate threat to
the health and welfare of the community where other financial resources are
not available to meet such needs. The applicant must certify and the Georgia
Department of Community Affairs must concur that such conditions exist.
The activities for which these funds may be used are in the areas of
housing, public facilities, and economic development More specific details
regarding eligible activities, plans to assist displaced persons and the
estimated amount of funds proposed to be used fey activities to benefit low
and moderate income persons, and the rating system will be provided at a
public hearing which will be held at Byron City Hall, 101 Murdock Lane,
Byron, Georgia, on February 28,1991 at 2:00 p.m.
The purpose of the hearing will be to obtain citizen input into the
development of the application and to review progress on the previous
CDBG grant (if applicable). Persons with special needs relating to
handicapped accessibility or foreign language shall contact Amy All urns at
(912) 751-6160 pricy to February 25,1991. This person can be located at the
Middle Georgia Regional Development Center, 661 Mulberry Street, Suite
600, Macon, Georgia 31201, between the hours of 8:30 am. and 5:00 p.m.,
Monday through Friday, except holidays.

For the wedding the bride's
mother chose a dress of royal blue
chiffon with a matching jacket of
brocaded crepe. The groom’s mother
chose a rose colored Mary McFad
den street length dress. Their cor¬
sages were a design of mauve En¬
chantment lillies and gypsophila.
Following the ceremony a re¬
ception was given by the bride's
parents in the Fellowship Hall of
the church. Mrs. Samuel Burch and
Mrs. Richard Bobo kept the bride's
book. Mrs. Bob Connell and Mrs.
Gary Melton served the bride's cake
with Mrs. James Keys, Mrs. Jo¬
hannes Meens and Miss Cheryl
Bridges serving the groom's cake.
Mrs. James Drake and Mrs. Widi
