gia high school students from 110
counties explored the challenge of

sources, yet meeting the demands of
the hungry world.
Besides hearing nationally
known speakers, they attended a
global market festival and saw in¬
ternational dance and theatre groups.
They also signed a contract that
when they returned home, they
world share the information with at
least 150 other young people to
make even a greater impact on their
community.

hope," Ann Kinnett, chairman of
the Daffodil Sale said. "Supporting
Daffodil Days means giving hope
to cancer patients and giving your
self a touch of spring."
Mrs. Kinnett is now taking or¬
ders for the daffodils. These fresh
flowers shipped from Michigan es-
teenagers and one adult team leader
from each of Georgia's 159 counties
will again be offered the opportu¬
nity to "make a difference." Volun¬
teer instructors are also needed for
the five-day workshop at Rock Ea¬
gle 4-H Center on August 5-9.
Participants will receive a cer¬
tificate, a T-shirt, a teaching note¬
book, and a world map from the
National Geographic Society.
Any young person, age 14-17,
can apply to join our Peach County
team. Volunteer instructions and
adult team leaders who are teachers
will receive SDU credit for their
participation.
For an application and more in¬
formation, call me at (912) 825-

March 15, 1991.
"The Global Food Web: Envi¬
ronment, Food Supply and Human
Nutrition" is funded by a $247,860
grant from the W.K. Kellogg
Foundation.
pccially for this annual fund-raising
event are expected to arrive in Fort
Valley the first week of March.
Bouquets of ten large daffodils are
$4.00.
Last year, the Peach County
Cancer Society ordered 30 bunches,
fifty bunches are expected this
spring. Orders do need to be placed
now. These bouquets are excellent
for parties or special gatherings.
"Some companies have pur¬
chased enough flowers for every
secretary, as a token of apprecia¬
tion. Others purchase bouquets and
have donated them to hospitals and
nursing homes or churches,"
Chairman Kinnett said. "Many of
our sales, though, are to individuals
who just want to honor others."
For more information of Daf¬
fodil Days, contact Ann Kinnett,
825-2404 or Ann Lanter, 825-8242.
All profit goes to the American
Cancer Society's research, education
and patient service programs.
