Salute to famous Americans
Students from the classes of Mrs. Frances Davis, Tonya Duncan and Betty Rice put on a salute to
famous Americans during the February assembly program. Each student held a poster with the name of
the famous person and then gave a brief speech stating what contribution the person had made to
America. The assembly encouraged patriotism, supported the troops in the Middle East and brought
visible support to students whose parents had been called to military service. Students did a lot of
singing during the assembly and asked the audience to join in the fun. They sang "Your Are The Wind
Beneath My Wings," "God Bless the U.S.A.," and "Let There Be Peace on Earth."

life (they made bird feeders for both
schools and for teachers and family

trees at both schools.

The fourth and fifth grade gifted
students also helped with the tree
planting. The trees were going to
be planted on Arbor Day but the
snow delayed the project. However,
they enjoyed the delayed Arbor Day
activities.
