Lady ‘Cats fall short in title bid
"March Madness" began for
the Fort Valley State Universi¬
ty Lady Wildcats Basketball
team last week, and for the
first time in school history. Fort
Valley State hosted the NCAA
Division H South Regional
Tournament The Lady Wild
cats won their serin final round
game against Delta State, but
fell in the title game to the
defending South Region Cham¬
pion, Arkansas Tech
Fort Valley State, which got a
first round bye started its
quest for the Division III title
against Delta State, who
opened tournament action with
an 68 69 win over Clark

Wildcats went up against the

championship game by defeat
ing #5 seed Florida Southern
(62-59) and the top seed,

responded with a 6-0 run to
take a lead, and after that Fort
Valley would find itself playing
