Kipling’s admonition that the
female of the species is more
deadly than the male.
Six female juveniles were
arrested in the Pine Street
area on Monday last week and
charged with attacking and
beating another young worn
an. According to incident
reports filed with the Fort Val
ley Police Department, the
fight arose because one of
those involved was dating the
father of another narticiDant’s
child. All six of the juveniles
arrested were 12-years-old.
Later that week, in an unre
lated incident, three young
women were arrested at Peach
County High School for
attacking and beating another
female student.
Superintendent Billy Pack
said that the fight at the high
school involved a dispute over
a boy. He added that the stu¬
dent was taken to the Peach
Regional Medical Center
because of low blood pressure
and released.

Miss Chisholm was an
astute, accurate, honest, truth¬
ful, sincere and kind person, if
you wanted the truth. She was
thorough. She believed in the
traditional employment philos¬
ophy such as punctuality, qual¬
ity work, professionalism,
respect for the supervisor, and
a day’s pay for a day’s work,
well done. She eschewed
absenteeism, feigned sick
leave, payroll padding, schem¬
ing or finding ways to avoid
work, incomplete tasks, excus¬
es, arrogance or confrontation
concerning work performance.
She had a cheerful laugh that
was easy, deep and sincere,

As Miss Chisholm was laid to
rest, Mesdames Anne Jeffer¬
son and Cardia Walker, sorori¬
ty sisters, joined the family,
relatives, friends, and local
acquaintances as all witnessed
the final chapter of one whose
rich life touched them deeply.
Miss Chisholm leaves a void
that will be hard to fill. With
morality at a low ebb few peo¬
ple want to do right by others.
We must be forever conscious
of the “good” traits she left ip
us and continue living in ways
that will benefit all human
beings.
