Harwell, age 30, and Jay Harwell, age
28. Both are graduates of Peach
County High School.
His hobbies include golf, gardening
and travel.
If you are wondering why he sought
a position with The Leader-Tribune in
news reporting Bob has three reasons,
1. He was getting bored in his
retirement.
2. He has always been a “news
junky".
3. He loves our community and
hopes to learn more about it.
Publisher Vicky Whitehead stated
she was pleased to have Hartig on
board, especially since he lives in
Peach County. “It is important that a
person have a feel for the community
so they can look at all sides of an
issue,” she said. ’ We welcome Bob."
Hartig will be covering a variety of
news including government meetings,
school news and features.
Spade has never been done in
Georgia. The MGRDA sees the tour
as an opportunity to showcase
Middle Georgia to statewide devel
opers and local officials from all
three counties. The MGRDA believes
the state will see more tours like the
Golden Spade because it allows state
officials to combine activities in
many counties on one trip and
emphases regional involvement.
The tour will begin at the Peach
she then travel to the Hawkinsville I
ndustrial Park and end up at the
