will be a major accomplishment and
will greatly enhance this exemplary
program as it will promote a higher
quality of teaching in the business
department.
Mrs. Holly stated that they would
like to implement an advisory board
which would be made up of a counselor,
a parent, and a board member as well
as a business teacher. Norma Givens
was chosen to be on the advisory board
due to the fact she heads the business
department at Fort Valley State.
The board also voted 3-1 not to
accept any more out of county children
into Peach County schools as it would
put a hardship on neighboring counties
as they have to pay out of pocket for
each child. .The money would come
from tax revenues and a lot of counties
have not budgeted for this school choice
policy. Federal money follows the child
and therefore Peach County gets
money for an out-of-county student in
the system. If a Peach County child
goes to another system, say Crawford
for example, then Peach would have to
pay that coimty the money .

The board voted unanimously to
accept the only received bid on the
school bus lease purchase which was
from Blue Bird. Superintendent,
Derryl Bryan said the lease purchase
will cost $39,000 per year for five years
for three buses. The board is cutting
back from five buses to three but will
go back to the original five next year.
November 30th will be the dead¬

program has not been matched by
the BOE in three years. Board must
come up with money in budget in
order to keep the $300,000 grant and
officers must be employed two addi¬

board must pay 25% the first year,
30% the second, and 35% the-third
year. No recomendation was made at
this meeting on how to budget fund¬
ing for the SROs.
