Season ends, but what a ride for BMS
Clifton Ridge was really the
first team of the season for the
Lady Eagles of BMS which
offend a real challenge. As they
faced them in the second round
of the tournament, a win would
mean continued play. It was not
to lie though the Lady Eagles
put forth a good effort in the 12-
7 loss.
“It was a season of hard
work, long hours and lots of
sweat, but just look at what
they accomplished,’’ stated
Coach David Evatt. They were
region champs after a regular
season record of 11-1 and an

[Trojans trip Chargers

Friday night the Central
Chargers (2-3K1-2) actually
looked like they could handle
the Peach County Trojans (4-
1X3-0) for all of about 13 sec
onds of the first quarter.
After being pinned deep in
their own territory on the open
ing kick off the Charger quar
terback dropped back to pass
and found a receiver open
across the middle for a 96-yard
touchdown. Before the Trojans
could get their cleats laced up
good the Chargers led 7-0 with
11:47 showing in the first.
Peach County would get the
ball at their own 20-yard line
after the kickoff went through
the end zone and the Trojan
offense would go to work. Tbny
Wright and Terrell Brown
would account for 63 yards on
carries of 10, 16 and 21 yards
but were held at the four-yard
line on three carries for no gain.
Facing a 4th and goal A.J.
Bryant found LeMario Brown
in the comer of the end zone for
the touchdown and with 6:42
remaining in the first quarter
and A.J. hit the point after to tie
the game 7-7.
With less than two minutes
remaining in the first quarter
the Trojans would again pin the
Chargers deep on a 37-yarder
by A.J. Bryant and Central
would take over at their own 9
yard line. The Trojan defense
would force a fumble and
Delarious Zanders would cover
one. Several runs were walked
in during this game.
After three innings against
Clifton Ridge, BMS trailed 9-3.
They held defensively in the
fourth but gave up three more
runs in the fifth. The Lady
Eagles put one more across the
plate in the fifth for a deficit of
12-4. Clifton Ridge, also the
Lady Eagles, were not able to
mount any other scoring drives
but BMS came on the seventh
and final inning adding three
more runs. However, it was not
enough.
At the plate, Britta
Raiderettes which the Lady
Trojans won 14-2:
Kathryn Cameron pitched
complete game. Ashley Smith

Tbny Wright would run it over
the right side for the touchdown
(point after by A.J. Bryant) to
give the Trojans a 14-7 lead
with 1:29 remaining in the first
quarter.
On the Chargers’ next series
the TYojans would get their first
Friday night football "rib rock

absolutely leveled the Central
tailback in the backfield for a
loss. Peach County would get
the ball back after Central was
forced to punt but would be
unable to move the ball. The
Chargers would return the A.J.
Bryant punt back to the TYojan

Late in the second quarter

by Roger King. Donnie Daniels
was also injured on the play and
would not return to the game.
Donnie was later diagnosed

Roger King would again con
tribute this time on offense on
third down and 20 with the
Trojans pinned at their own
eight-yard line. AJ. Bryant hit
Roger King down the right side
line and Roger took it 92-yards

A.J. Bryant said later,
"Central made some good
adjustments at half time. They
mixed their fronts up well and
it took a few minutes to get back
in sync. The throw to Roger was
designed, I just aired it out, he
(Roger King) has great speed
and I knew he could run under
it. I didn’t even see the catch."
Peach County would add one
more score on a 14-yard run by
Tbny Wright who finished the
game with 117 yards on 19 car
ries and two touchdowns. A.J.
Bryant completed 10 of 20 pass

Following the game coach
Ranee Gillespie said, "Condi

win, as it has all year. Our guys
are in great shape and it really
shows up late in the game."
Peach County is a bit banged
up but should have everyone
available for Friday night’s con

Trojans are 8-11 lifetime
against Dodge County and will
look to better that mark Friday
on the road. Game time is 7:30
