Congratulations to William
Khoury; he is well, hail and
hardy after cleaning off a roof
and a faulty ladder and having
it fall on top of him. Hey ain’t
it nice to be young and healthy!
Patsy Thomas went to
Vidalia to enjoy her cousin.
Camella (Melt) Whipple’s
100th birthday party. Many of
the guests as well as the host¬
ess were teachers, some even
taught literature, which always
leads to fun parties, and this
was no exception. Practically
everyone in Vidalia attended.
Mell was voted citizen of the
year five years ago and she
says she will see us on her
105th birthday party.

What’s Going on in the Valley
We had a visitor from Atlanta,
Joyce HalJ Pelphrey who was
down for several days. Besides
visiting friends and family
around the Valley, we also vis¬
ited Matt-Matt our grand in
Kathleen and then went on
down to Jekyll Island for the
weekend with Emily, Mike and
several more friends. We had a
great time eating, watching the
wild life: raccoons, opossums,
and deer who spent the night
on the front lawn. They think
they are Watch-Deer guarding
the house.
Blackbeard's Restaurant has
now become Fin’s and the food
is still delicious. The weather
was delightfully cool, the birds
on the pier entertaining and the
sunset gorgeous. We always
loved the old Jekyll Inn and
all the lovely “cottages,” sur¬
rounding it. But our best dinner
was at Sea Jay’s Cafe & Pub,
a restaurant on the river, more
like a yacht club. If you have
been to Jekyll Island lately you
will be in for a shock. You
can’t drive straight through to
the beach; you have to take a
detour around. It appears they
are adding and remodeling the

promise to keep driving and not

We hated to miss the blessing
of the animals at the Episcopal
Church; it is always a really
spiritual and fun ceremony;
especially when people bring
their large pets, i.e. horses. Our
grand Matt-Matt went to the
Georgia National Fair, rode all
the rides for his age and loved
the animals, rode the ponies
and hugged and kissed the goat.
It is our believe that every child
should at least have a goat. We
had one in Rome when we w ere
little to pull the little red wagon
and Denver and Eli had one
in Perry. However, we don’t
really remember them doing
much but butting heads. The
goats; not the children.

Compliment Your Style With Accessories
She rondo Wed
Remember, whichever fashion
accessories you decide to use,
keep it simple, add some color
and remember that you don't
always need too many acces¬
sories. Less is more! One or two
accessories are enough to make
you look great and feel good.
Accessorizing an outfit can
turn boring into fabulous very
quickly. Choose chunky brace¬
lets to dress up a pair of jeans
with a solid colored blouse or
sweater. Mix and match your
colors when you’re shopping.
You don’t necessarily want to
always match your outfit color
for color, but you do want to
stay on the color palette. Have
fun with it and choose belts and
bangles, earrings amd rings of
different colors and sizes. Shop
for a variety of bangle colors
that come in little bundles. This
way, you save money. Chunky
neck pieces are very glamorous
this Fall. The Fall colors mixed
with goldtones. bronze and
silver necklaces are very trendy.
Layered pearls around the neck
are a must have this season. I
love sparkle! So 1 have to have
shimmery accessories, but I
am careful not to overdo it!
Always wear shimmer accord¬
ing to the occasion. The bold
colors have spilled over into
the accessories category as
well. Shop for bold. Fall colors
in orange, yellow, green, blue,
red, etc. Earrings are a heavy
fashion accessory. I have seen
the chandelier type of earring
in just about every store in all
facets of color. You can dress
casual or elegant with this type
of earring, according to the
occasion. This piece of jewelry
is known as a statement piece,
which means it stands alone
and any other accessories worn
need to be minimized. 1 like
the long, feathery and peacock
adorned earrings. They look
great with your hair pulled
back from your face or in an
updo.
Head pieces are really
making a statement like they’ve
never made before. Headbands
with embellishments of sequin,
feathers, flowers, and rhine¬
stones look very stylish and
can be worn with just about
anything. They’re very afford-

We can’t get enough of
cocktail rings. This piece of
jewelry literally with just about
everything and everywhere.
Look for big, bold rings with
prints, bright colors, rhine¬
stones, dome-shaped, etc. So
many different styles of rings
to choose from. They are very
affordable, too. So go stock up!
“The bigger. The better” is
my philosophy of how I shop
for handbags. This is a very
noticeable accessory, next to
shoes, so choose wisely. So
many different designs and
styles to choose from. I prefer
a mixture of patent-leather,
multi-colored, prints, and
handbags with studs. People
will notice your handbag
and shoes before they notice
you .lol! Seriously, it’s true.
Whatever type of handbag you
choose, let it make a statement
of your personality when you
walk in a room.
Well, I will adjourn here and
have you join me next week
when I share with you some
affordable skin care regimens
to help keep you looking fresh.
