Therefore, we don’t feel satisfied

Miss Minnie McDowell has re
turned to her home, near Lost
Mountain, after spending several
days with relatives and friends
in our community.
Miss Sallio Watson spent Sun
day and Monday with relatives in
DalhiB.
Misses Jessie and Ella Green
have been visiting Mrs. J. S.
Watson.
Miss Fannie Watson who has
been visiting her sister, Mrs. Hr

home at Lost Mountain.
Those who have been sick in
our community are all improving
we are glad to say.
J udge Barlett has gone to Haral
son to hold his first court.
The Sunday-school at Bethel is
in a flourishing condition under
the leadership of ’Squire S. P.
Arnold.
Singings are quite the go on
Sunday afternoons in our com
munity.
One of our young men went to
Texas and remained one week.
Ho was in two wrecks, but ro
il rued safely, much to the joy
of his friends among the fair sox.
Mr. Ben Cochran spent Sunday
with home folks.
Mrs. Chambers has returned to
her home in Alabama after sev-
eral weeks’ stay in our com
munity.

past week.
Mr. Pierce Honse went down to
Atlanta Friday and returned on
Saturday.
Mr. James Ivey, of Atlanta, ac
companied by Mr, I. N. Eason,
came to Hiram Friday afternoon.
Mr. Ivey buried his infant child at
Powder Springs Saturday morn
ing. We join our sympathy to
that of many others in behalf of
the bereaved family.
Mrs. Tiny Rakestraw, died on
the 10th inst. Site was in the
morning of life, her shadow yet
falling to the west. She was not
quite 21 years old when she fell

mill completed. We now have no
excuse for borrowing meal,except
laziness.
Mr. Elisia Post,ell was at meet
ing Saturday looking greasy; he
killed hogs Friday, you know.
Prof. J H lister passed through
Sunday going to his school at
White Oak.
The sawmill men of our section
must think the road to wealth is
very muddy.
Mr. W M Neal has opened up a
stock of general merchandise,
with Mr. l’erletus Cooper in
charge.
Death of Wm. M. Norton.
was affectionately called, died
near Birmingham, Ala., Wednes
day, Jan. 14,1903, and was buried
at Flint Hill cemetery Thursday,
January 15th, at 8 o’clock p. in.
Mr. Norton wasone of Paulding’s
most respected citizens. HejBpent
the best part of his life within the
borders of Paulding county. He
was a brave Confederate soldier,
a true members! the Methodist
church, an enthusiastic Mason,
and a loving child of God. He
leaves the wife of his youth, sev
eral sons and daughters, and a
large circle of friends to mourn
his loss. Rev. A. F. Nunn con
ducted the funeral exercises,after
which he was laid to rest with
Masonic ||onors. God buries
bis workmen, but carries on his
work.”
