Misses Ella, Jessie and Cora Green who have been visiting relatives and friends at Browns ville, have returned home. They were delighted with their trip. Misses Bailie Watson and Azmu Hill spent Sunday in Dallas. Mrs. O J Florence, of Birming ham. Ala., is visiting relatives and friends in our community. Miss Dora Hay lias returned home after a visit of several months with relatives in Carroll ton and Bowdoin. Miss Jessie Green spent last Friday in Dallas. Miss Della McOlung was the guest of Misses Var.nie and Josio Carter last Sunday. The pound supper at Mr. W 8 Kincaid’s last Monday night*was well attended and heartily en joyed by all present. The music was very fine indeed. Miss EttlaSmith spent last Fri day with the Misses Green. A large party of young ladies enjoyed a brooin straw hunt Iasi Tuesday. Mr. Bob Jordan and family are visiting his mother, who is quite sick. We trust she will soon recover. Miss Ella Green is visiting her sister at Brownsville. We are glad to say that. Mr. barney McClung,,who*diak bpeii quite ill with typhofjl, feveft is rapidly improving. We wish for him a speedy recovery. Mr, Win. Taylor has moved to his old residence. Mr. John Baxter has moved to Mr. A O Ware’s place on Pump- kinvine. Mrs. Sinyard will spend tho wm r ter with her daughter, Mrs. G W. Cole. Misses Georgia and Lela Nix spent last Saturday and $undav with their grandmother, Mrs. Jes sie Hitchcock, Miss Danie Gamble spent last Sunday with Miss Montie Harper. Prof. J H Lester and Mr. W A Harris visited Dallas Saturday. The school at this place is in a very flourishing condition. Prof. Loster is a competent teacher and a strict disciplinarian, and enjoys the confidence of both patrons and pupils. H U and J O Wilson are still working at the gold mines near Villa Rica. State School Commissioner W. B. Merritt has written a letter to county boards pf edu cation informing them that they can defer action in mak ing book contracts for the next five years until after the June session of the legislature if they so desire.
