It is becoming more and more evident that the repub licans in the Senate will not permit any effective anti-trust legislation to be enacted. Democratic sentiment in Washington seems to be tend ing towards the presidential candidacy of Judge Alton B. Parker of New York. Senator Hoar, the veteran republican, has administered a merited rebuke to the presi dent for attempting to dictate legislation.
