After a good attendance of
five months, the school at this
place closed Friday, March 27th,
much to the regret of the pupils
and most of the patrons.
The worthy and competent
teacher, l’rof. W. A. Wheeler,
was sorry that he was unable to
remain With us longer as someof
t ie patrons wished the school to
continue until the first of May.
However, the school closed Fri
day with an entertainment which
was enjoyed by all present.
There were dialogues and'reci
tations by the pupils and an ad
dress by the teacher. Among
those who re iited were Misses
Bernice Williams, Emma Mobley,
Ozie Williams, Mattie Kilgore,
Georgia Mobley, Emma Biown
and Minnie Mobley.
The dialogue practice were
both interesting and amusing.

by Prof. Wheeler, Dan Campbell
and Joe Dupree. “Favorite so
los,” by Miss Ozie Williams and
Joe Dupree. “Now Judge,”
“Ceaser and the dentist,” “A
letter from many,” etc.

tion. Since school began last
November, Misses Mattie Kil-
goie, Ozie Williams. Emma Mob
ley and Bernice Williams, togeth
er with Lonnie Mobley, Willie
Kilgore and Luther Williams,
have been in regular attendance
■ in the higharitlunati.’, grammar,
geography and elementary alge
bra. Miss Mable Oole and Dan
Campbell also joined this class
after their school closed, and
altogether, Prof, Wheeler has as
good a school, in point of book
knowledge and morals, as can he
Ibuad any where in the country.

Elmer Sorrels, who lias been
seriously ill with pneumonia, we
are glad to say, is improving.
Miss Leila Siins^of Bainbridge,
Ga., and Miss Dtlla Estes, of
Brownsville, visiltod Mr. and Mrs.
C. J. Estes last week.
There will be a Sunday school
celebration at the Corner Chap
el Saturday and Sunday, 11th
and loth of April. Several not
ed speakers have promised to be
present and deliver addresses.
Everybody invited.
The pound supper at J. N.
Moons’ Saturday night was well
attended and highly enjoyed.
Gen. Wm. Phillips, of Mari
etta, was here Thursday assisting
in arranging program for the
Sunday school celebratiou.
The little child of Mr. and Mrs.
J T. Moore, of Atlanta, died
Thursday night and was brought
here and entered at the Bullard
cemetery Friday afternoon, liev.
W. T. Walden preached the
funeral.
Our Sunday school is flourish
ing. The attendance is large
and there is much interest mani
fested by all.

Lost Mountain.
1 thought as there has not been
anything from this place in a
long time, I would come again
with my little budget of news.
The farmers have been putting
in full time the last few days.
J. D. Ware made a business
trip to Dallas last week.
H. H. Dunton is all smiles—its
a boy.
Mrs. H. L. Scott who has been
sick is improving.
J. H. Lewis visited the Gate
City last week. While there he
purchased a pair of mules.
There has been a big lot ol
guano-hauled out this season. I
guess we- are all going to have
more cotton than ever.
I am certainly glad the people
of Paulding have decided to have
better r^ads. That is right.
Make old Paulding the banner
county of the state and not have
it said that Paulding has the
roughest roads anywhere. I live
in Paulding myself ami I am
proud of it, but let us do every
thing in. building u.p our county.
