Eight months ago I was so ill that I was compelled to lie or sit down nearly ail the time. My stomach was so weak and upset that I could keep nothing on it and I vomited frequently. I could not urinate without great pain and I coughed so much that my throat and lungs were raw and sore. The doctors pro nounced it Bright's disease and others said it was consumption. It mattered little to me what they called it and I had no de sire to live. A sister visited me from St. Louis and asked me if I had ever tried Wine of Cardui., I told her I had not and sho bought a bottle. I believe that it saved my life. I believe many women could save much suffer ing if they but knew of its value. A DeWItt’s K3 Salve For PHoOf Bum*# *oro«. Don't you want freedom from pain? Take Wine of Cardui and make one supremo effort to be well. You do not need to bo a weak, helpless sufferer. Ypu can have a woman's health and do a woman’s work in life. Why not secure a bottle of Wine of Cardui from your druggist to day? WlNE*CARDUI Bessie—Ma and pa have been quarreling, haven’t they? Willie —Yes. Bessie—Which one got the worst of it—do you know? The true measure of greatness is helpfulness. “Once to die, hut after that the judgment-”—and then what? When we receive Christ’s right eousness we are robed for heav en.1 No, a preacher ought not. to use tobacco; neither ought a gen tleman. It is the iiin in the heart, and not in the world that, injures the individual. Keep the heart pure and you will enjoy much of heaven while on earth. Is the gospel a blessing toman- kind? Well, if it is, you ought tit help send it to those who do not have it. The church member who can not give to missions because his tobacco hill is so large is sadly in need of reconstruction. A good citizen will show the proper respect to ollicers elected by the majority of the people whether they are of his party or not. The church member who ex cuses himself by saying, “I am no worse than others,” is an ob ject. of pi tv and should have the earnest prayers of God’s people. Make your recreation wlmt the word implies, a re-creation. The only thing that can justify a va cation from work is that, it might give strength to do more and bet ter work. The reason why wo have many in our churches that want, to manage the work is because it is easier to tell others to do the work than it. is to do it ourselves. God gives six days out of seven to provide for this earthly life and one day out. of seven to pre pare for the future life. Surely one day in seven is little enough to give to a never ending eterni ty. Don’t expect, to see your way clear through to glory at once Follow the path of duty each day as it comes, and you will reach the end safely. “Keep thou my feet; I do not ask to see the dis tant scene; one step enough for me.” Never speak disrespectfully of any officer. He may not he the best man for the place, but us lie is the choice of the people and a duly elected officer treat him with that respect which is becom ing an officer of his rank.—Word and Works. A. J. CAMP, Councellor-At-Law, DALLAS, GA. The administration of estates in court of ordinary a specialty. Will piactice also in Superior and U. S. courts. Sentence Sermons. Genuineness is genius. Love knows no limitation. Every deed is a seed. Meekness magnifies the manly. There is no sancitity without sense. The sword revenge has a sting in the handle. A church membership certifi cate is not a sleeping car ticket. There are no good points about a porcupine character. Kindness is the master key to till hearts. Those things are not. worth seeking that are not worth keep ing. Shining lives seldom come out of soft circumstances. Denouncing sin is not the same as renouncing it, Half of life’s sorrow is but oeping over weeds. A good push will scare the devil more than a whole lot of preach ing. l’ride dies in the heart when love looks out of tlio oyos. The best, way to pray for the poor is with your own baskets and store. You lannot. make clouds for others und live iu the clear light yourself. Men who are great on little tilings are apt to be little on great tilings. The Ohristinn is sure to be lean if ho keeps his manna laid in a museun. The man with a tender heart, does not need to demonstrate it by the softness of his head. There is bound to be a squint in the sermon when it has one eye on the creed and the other on cash. For h Bad Cold. Bryan off the steps of the post office, where he was making a speech; but the audience followed him to the street curb where the speech was finished. Penman—“You say you like my hooks?” Wright—“Well, I’m stuck on two of them.” “Which two?” “The two I bought.’’—Yonkers Statesman.
