Let everybody go to the Lyceum
Friday night at 8 p. m. at the school
house.
The Lyceum has lost heavily this
season although the attractions have
been the best that have ever been to
Dallas. Everybody who did go were
delighted, and notwithstanding the
slim crowds, the enthusiasm made
up in a degree for them.
On Friday evening at 8 p. in. at the
school house the noted humourist,
Lucius Perry Hills, will give an en
tertainment which will be one of the
vefy best He will make you laugh,
laugh and laugh, and then some.
Hoar him say “Tlie Janitor and the
Goat,” a secret society legend and
“When Women Propose,” which ev
ery single woman should hear, as
this Is leap year. And then Mr. Hills
can say pieces that will make you
glad you are living; such svyeet,
pathetic stories like “My Mother's
Old Steel Thimble" and “The F&oe
Against the Pane," and many others
thpt the mothers and fathers will en
joy. Mr. Hill’s motto is this:
“I’d^rather bring one gleam of Joy
To eyes where toars now flow,
Or ./carve one happy smile upon
The pallid lips of woe,
Than call the hoarded wealtli
Of mighty Crouosus all my own,
Or win my way thru blood and tears
To an imperial throne.”
Go and smile With Lucius Perry
Hills Friday night. The cost Is
small, only 35 and 15 cents. Go and
help tlie young men out who are be
hind this lyceuin courBO, and who
will have to go down in their own
pockets to make up the large dellclt
if you don’t come.
Remember this coming Friday
night at 8 o’clock at tlie school house
Lucius Perry Hills will entertain
you mightily.

Postmaster Spinks desires to
call attention to the practice of
some patrons of rural delivery of
placing loose coins in their boxes
each time they desire to dispatch
letters instead of supplying them
selves with postage in advance of
the„ir needs.
This practice imposes unjgjjie
hardship on rural carriers in Re
moving loose, coins from boifes
and delays them on the service
Of their routes.
•y The postmaster, therefore, ur
gently requests that patrons of
Epral delivery provide themselves
abd keep on hand a supply of
*tahips consistent with and in ad
vance of their needs. It is also
very desirable that rural patrons
place in their mail boxes small de
tachable cups of wood or tin in
which to place coins, when nec-
essaryp in purchasing supplies of
stamps.- ' •

Only a Cold.
"Only a cold,” in a common ex-
proBHion. And so the victim lets it
go on, day after day, red eyes, swtl-
ion features, lassitude, sleeplessness,
loss of appetite, tlie Irritating cough.
In itself a cold may bo simply un
comfortable. In its results it is often
fatal. Pneumonia, with its onorfhous
fatality; consumption, with Its dead
ly grip; bronchitis, asthma, tlicso
and many ailments are often tlie ill-
rect result of a cold.
The patient may have had many
colds. They have resulted in noth
ing serious. But when tlie system
lias become w eakenod by tlioso re
peated attacks; when the mucous
membranes are in a chronic un
healthy condition, then It is these
fatal maladies assert themselves.
There is no greater mistake than to
neglect a cold. At its first appear
ance measures should bo taken to re
lieve it. At tills season of tlie year,
when coughs and colds are-common,
Peruua should be kept constantly in
the house. At the first symptom
this remedy should he taken. It will
soothe the mucous membranes, re
lieve the irratation, and the cold will
gradually disappear. That this Iihb
been the experience of many is prov
en by the hundreds of gratofulletters
