Young Woman Shoots Herself.
Friday morning about 8:40
o’clock Christine Leon, a /young
woman about 10 years old, com
mitted suicide at Braswell by
shooting herself with a pistol.
She had been livjjpg at Bras
well for several months, having
gone there from Gainesville, Ga.
She was of mixed blood, her fath
er being a Ohinaman and her
mother a white woman.
No definite cause for the sui
cide could be learned, though it
appeared from letters which she
received from some of hpr rela
tives, that she had been asking
financial aid from them and that
this was not given her.
From a letter which she bad
written, but which had not been
mailed, it appeared that she had
contemplated for some time tak
ing her own life.
Ordinary B. E. Groker was re
quested to go to Braswell soon
after it was learned that the
young woman was dead. He did
so, and after making a thorough
investigation is satified that there
can be no doubt but that she
took her own life.
