In Memoriam.
Mr*. Clifflo Huckeba, daughter of
Mr. W. J. anil Mrs. Annie ltiUn-
wiitors, was born May 28ril, 1884, died
July 21, 11(08. She joined tho Bap
tist oburoh at Now Caauun H years
ago, and was baptized by Kev. Mar-
Hhall McCoy, and lived a true and
dutiful member until tho death an
gel called for her. She wan laid to
rest at Mt. Vernon, near the place
that gave her birth anil where she
spent her happy childhood days.
Rev. W. T. Walden conducted the
services In tho presence of a host of
friends. On Dec. 7, 11)02, she married
Mr. G. F. Huckeba, with whom she
lived a happy life until death, as her
words will show that we find in n
letter she hud written for publica
tion In the American Journal only a
short time before she was taken sick.
She said: *)| have been married
nearly six years and have two sweet
chlldron, and you may know that we
live a happy life when I say that
myself and companion have never
had a quarrel, and I can ramble
through the woods and Helds and
gather wild flowers and rest under
the shade of the beautiful oaks."
We feel that her life was such that
she left sufficient fruits of a true
wife, mother and “tho child of a
king" that her spirit Is now basking
in the beautiful sunlight of God’s
love. She is now rambling in God’s
paradise and gathering the golden
flowers of the New Jerusalem. She
said to your humble writer at tne
grave of my dear father at
New Caanan last year, “Oh, how 1
loved ‘Uncle Note,’ ^ir how kind he
A few doses of this remedy will in

It can always be depended upon,
even In the more severe attacks of

It is equally successful for summer

children, aud is the means of saving
the lives of many children each year.

hail been to me; I know I will moot
him again on tho other shore, for his
life has been achrlstlan light tome."
Shu also said “Won’t that bo a hap
py mooting when wo all moot again
whore there will bn no more sorrow
and trouble.” So wo fool to know
that their spirits are mot together in
that golden city somewhere, there
longing and wait ing for those that
are near and dear unto thorn. Boar
father, mother, husband, brothers,
sisters, little Gladys and Owen, aud
friends and kdispeople all, let us not
mourn for our belsved Cliffio, for she
is now singing the sweet story. “Up
there Is no sorrow and wo never shall
die, and with hearts and hands be
blended in a happy meeting over
there." They will welcome us home
and with them we will ever roam.
Now, In conclusion, we want to say
to the bereaved husband and dear
little motherless children, that we
pray that the God of mercy may over
shelter them under tho shadow of
His wing. Oh, what Is home with
out a mother? May the husband
ever put 1i1b trust in Thee and have
faith In Thy great promises, and live
that true Christian life before Ills
dear little chlldron that it might bo,
as it were, a lamp unto them to guide
them along that Btruight and narrow
way. Now, dear Gladys and Owen,
may you ever remember "where in
life’s early morning you once loved
to roam" by the side of your mother
and may her sweet prayers in your
hearts over be felt and treasured up
while the lamp of life holds out to
burn, then may you meet with your
sainted mother around the beautiful
throne where parting will come nev
ermore, is the prayer of your humble
friend. M. B. Parris.

Excellent Health Advice.
Mrs. M. M. Bavison, of No. :!71)
Gifford Ave., San Jose, Cal., says:
“The worth of Electric Bitters as a
general family remedy, for headache,
biliousn iss and torpor of the liver
and bowels is so pronounced that I
am prompted to say a word in its fa
vor, for the benefit of those seeking
relief from such afflictions. There is
moro health for the digestive organs
in a bottle of Electric Bitters than in
any other remedy I know of.” Sold

A Faithful Friend.
“I have used Chamberlain’s Colic,
Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy since
it was first introduced to the public
in 1872, and have never found one in
stance where a cure was not speedily
effected by its use. I have been a
commercial traveler for eighteen
years, and never start out on a trip
without this, my faithful friend,”
says H. S. Nichols of Oakiand, Ind.
Ter. When a man lias used a rem
edy for thirty-five years he knows
its value and is competent to 6peak
of it. For sale by E. H. Robertson,
