Therj were quite a number of
visitors present at the opening,
and several interesting speeches
were made, liev. A. J. Morgan,
from Acworth, conducted the
opening exercises and made a
very interesting and appropriate
address to the school. He was
followed by three members of
the school board, (Jol. Camp, Dr.
Hitchcock, and Mr. Hudson. Af
ter these our county school com
missioner, Mr. Turner, and the
presidents of our two banks,
Messrs. Davis and Leonard, made
very appropriate speeches.
Mr. \V. H. Beckham, the new
principal, then responded with a
brief speech. Ho expressed his
appreciation of the kindly man

had received him, assuring us that
he would lend his best, efforts to
the upbuilding of the school and
the community.
Miss Florence Dye, the new
music teacher, then favored the

The teachers and pupils were
greatly encouraged by the pres

showed their co-operation and ex
pressed their good will. We
were proud to see a number of
former graduates, Miss Reba Ed
mondson, Miss Edna Sanders,
Miss Loula Davis-and Messrs.
