(Last Week.) The farmers of this section are busy picking cotton. We are sorry to say Mrs. Mandy Taylor has fever; and also her neice, little Bertie EUberry, has typhoid fever. Afrs. W. J. Alley, with Misses Ef* anil Marie, spent Tuesday in Douglasville. Singing school closed at this place Friday. Mr. Howard and Miss Flora Alley were guests of the Misses Tidwell Sunday afternoon. Miss Martha Dorris, of Doug lasville, spent last week with her sister, Mrs. Duncan. Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Walton were guests of IV. J'. Alley and family Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Marshall McTyre were guests of Mr. Will King and family Sunday afternoon. Mr. Luther Harbin, of Lithia Springs, was seen in this section Sunday afternoon. Carthell Varner, of Hiram, at tended preaching at this place Friday night. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Mitchell were guests of F. K. Duncan and family Sunday. Rev. Reuben Barrow was the guest of F. E. Walton Sunday Coleman McTyre was seen out riding with his ^est girl Sunday afternoon. There will be singing at this place the third Sunday afternoon. Everybody invited. The picnic at Baker Bridge Friday was highly enjoyed by all who attended. Bascom Wood and Darnil Wynn were out ridding Sunday. They were going south. Pleas McOard {spent Saturday night with John Odom and fami ly- Misses Kate and Willett Brock were guests of Miss Loula West Sunday. Lee Lambert made his regular call Sunday afternoon. The singing thatywas given by W. B. Wood Sunday night was highly enjoyed by a large crowd. We are sori v to say Mrs. Oma West is not improving fast, but we hope she will soon be out again. ' Aunt Maliceut Shockley is spending a few days witli her neice, Mrs. Loula Baker and fam ily- Mr. Willis Kilgore, of Villa Rica, called on Miss Eflie Huey Sunday afternoon.
