Master Howard Singleton visited his brother, Kenneth, a while last week. Misses Edna and Eunice Barnwell visited at Mr. G. H. Glass’ Sunday. Miss Agnes Wallis visited at Mrs. Amelia Wallis’ Sunday. Misses Lorena and Bonnie Carruth spent Saturday night with Misses Beulah and Eliza -1 beth Barron. Miss Vinnie Singleton, who has been spending sometime with relatives in S. C., has re turned home. Mr. Harwell Hulsey and fam ily visited at Mr. B. Hulsey’s Sunday. Miss Estelle Wallis, who has been in school at Waleska, has returned home. Some from here attended May meeting at Coal Mountain Sun day. Messrs Marvin Wallis and Frank Hulsey, also Miss Mag gie Wallis attended Reinhardt ! commencement last week. <2 Cosette. PEA RIDGE There was a large crowd at Sharon Sunday and all seeemd to enjoy themselves fine. Misses Essie and Eva Green spent the week-end in this part Mr. Reno Green spent last week at home. Dr. (). T. Harris is on the sick list, we hope he’ll soon recover Mr. Garth Green made a bus iness trip to Buford Wednesday Miss Erma Green is spending a few days in this part. We are sorry that Mrs. Har ris is not doing so well at this writing. Next Sunday is regular sing ing evening at Brookwood. We poor ignorant farmrs are glad to have the advice we are getting. We appreciate some experience man’s advice, but we don’t care anything about someone telling us how to farm that wouldn’t know which end l of a plowstock. to hitch a mule to. We have had too much of Hat kind of advice now’. It’s ' easy to tell how to farm but i here is some work to it. I would | like to see some of them that is telling us how get out and try and see if they could make e nough to feed those 50 hens and that cow. I my doubts about it. Some people in this section are planting over their cotton. “Hill Billey” says I’m not im proving any in my meanness, but yet he says I diden’t misrep | resent him last week and he Isays he diden’t borrow- any ! body’s children either, so I’m tilling to sign that petition. Pat. PLEASANT VIEW Nearly everybody attended meeting at Sharon last Sunday and Rev. Thompson sure did preach a big sermon. The sick in this part are all setter. Remember next Saturday and 'unday are regular meeting days here. Sunday school at ten o’clock next Sunday, preaching at 11 and prayer service at 3 p. m. We hope to have a good attend mce at all these services. It looks like if we have a land of cotton in this part it \ill have to be planted over, lien it would be late. Everybody ought to have >een at Sharon Sunday to hear ,vhat Bro. Thompson said was arising all this trouble. Our bibles would tell us just what ne said if we would read them because he preached only the bii ble. Rev. BradJy filled his regu- lar appointment at Chalcedonia Sunday but failed to get there on Saturday on account of rain. Yes, “Bob White” I am get ting ready for our meeting the 4th of July. Hope all the cor respondents will be there in stead of the war. Rev Spivey of near Lawrence vilb’ will preach here Saturday night before the second Sun day. He is a good preacher and will open the service by leading a hymn like old times and will be run in the old time way througout the services. Not much visiting this week as most everybody went to the singings at Roanoke, Pleasant Grove and Sharon Sunday. Mrs. Carrie Wheeler and two children spent first of last week with her parents in Cumming. Rev. Byron Couch preached an interesting sermon at Beav er Ruin last Thursday night. Mrs. W. J. Bennett visited at Mr. Guy Heard’s Saturday af ternoon Mrs. Geo. Fowler spent Sun day afternoon with Mrs. Epsie Wheeler. Miss Ruby Mae Bruce was the guest of Miss Ruby Smith one day last week. Mrs. Clura Bruce and Miss Lizzie Vernon spent one day last week at Mr. L. B. Dover’s. Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Bennett attended services at Beaver Ruin Thursday night. Hazel. CUBA. MIDWAY A nice rain fell here one dayj last week and the rain was ac compained by some hail but it 'did not damage the crops in this part. | Mr. Marion Stowe was bur ied at Midway Friday and Mr. Philip Neese Saturday. The bereaved have our sympathy. Mr. C. O. Hendrix made a' trip t o Marietta Saturday night Mr. Henry Boling spent Sat urday night at Rev. V. K. Vaughan’s near Haw Creek. Most everybody took in the May meeting at Hopewell and LSharon Sunday. Those visiting at Mrs. Mary Bolings Saturday night and Sunday were Mr. J. M. Boling and family, Mr. J. I Sewell and family of Dawson county J. B. CORINTH. Well the May meeeings has come an dgone. What O what will be on us if we live til May 1918? Will we have the priv eleges then that W'e have had this May? I fear not. Some of our people that is with us now will not be here next May, but may be over in that far country O how we ought to rejoice be- cause of the liberty that we now enjoy, but 1 fear we will never enjoy those happy days no more with all our people. It sure does look hard for us to have to give up our boys be cause we don’t know when they take their leave from us that w r e will ever see them any more in this world but we can’t help it now, so I would jusrt say to all while you are preparing to meet the enemy prepare to meet thy God. Well we attended divine ser vices at Roanoke Sunday and had a good time, singing in the afternoon. Brother Luper Mul linax did preach a good ser mon from Luke 10. This was his first time to preach, he sure did well. May the Lord help him and strengthen him in this work, for it is a grand work when it is carried out in the right way. We are sorry to say that Mr. Bryan Williams has fever but hope for him a speedy recover. Well we learn that there is some trouble in the Sunday school aUßoauoke because the Superintendent appointed a man teacher of the advance class that is a holiness.
